The SCHISM Mailbox Mary's Remnant will not respond to all of the emails we receive, and neither will we post all of them here. This section is included only as a general overview of the response the Schism page is generating.
From: "Vera MM" Dear Sir/Madam: I am an orthodox Catholic and attend both the Novus Ordo Mass and also the magnificent Tridentine Mass, my definite favorite. I honor greatly our Holy Father who is a living saint and because of the power of his pious intercession, we still have a world to live in. No doubt about that! I attend the Tridentine Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel whose celebrant is an independent priest, in union with the Holy Father, not a member of SSPX or a sede-vacantist. I want to tell you that your promotion of "condemnation" of Archbishop Leferbe is very unfair. Though not perfect (like none of us), Archbishop was a beacon of light in the "smoke of satan that entered the Church" and preserved the undying dignity and reverence of the Tridentine Mass. As I said, I attend both, because there are holy priests still left in the Novus Ordo rite, but to discourage others from attending the Society's Masses is utterly unfair to us orthodox Catholics. I give you one irrefutable reason why you are very wrong: If good Archbishop Lefrebe was "excommunicated", what is this heretic priest (Matthew Fox) doing being a priest and still is allowed to call himself a priest because Vatican does nothing to stop him? http://www.iclnet.org/pub/resources/text/cri/cri-jrnl/web/crj0001c.html So, your "warning" against the Archbishop is utterly unfounded and without any merit or truth. If you want to help the crucified Church, then do all in your power to rid the Church of poison like Matthew Fox, not the truth and reverence of a true Catholic Priest like Archbishop Lefebre. May God send His Son soon to us and restore the Church to Her Glory.
In Jesus and Mary,
Our Response: Peace Vera, The "good Archbishop Lefrebe" was indeed excommunicated. That was not my decision, nor did my ministry have a hand in that. If you have a problem with his excommunication, then you need to address the issue with the Holy Father, whom you call "a living saint," because it was his decision. Mary's Remnant does not "condemn" anyone, although we do condemn some people's actions. We are not "promoting" the Archbishop's excommunication, we are merely warning those Catholics who are not aware that he was, indeed, excommunicated, and that the society he founded is not currently in line with, or obedient to, the Holy Father. For the record, neither is Matthew Fox, but I don't presume to tell the Magisterium how to run the Church. There is no unfairness in posting decisions made by the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church. As faithful Roman Catholics, our response to the growing number of groups which are not in communion with Rome, yet claim to be, is to warn the faithful to beware by making the plain facts available to them. We will add you to our prayers.
