Mary's Remnant is prepared to obey the decision of the Church concerning all visionaries.

In response to the article by Christopher Gaul in the April 17, 2003 edition of the Baltimore Catholic Review, please be mindful of the following points:

1. There has being nothing officially new declared. In September 2002, Cardinal Keeler requested that the Thursday evening prayers at the parish church in Emmitsburg be stopped and that no church buildings be used as a platform for the visionary, Gianna Talone Sullivan. That has been observed. No ecclesiastical new demand has been made in addition to the above.

2. Cardinal Ratzinger made no investigation of this case. It seems he only reiterated the prescriptions of Canon Law. That is, the local ordinary of the diocese has the authority and obligation to investigate and make decisions regarding matters of private revelations occuring in his diocese, unless the Holy See chooses to reserve the investigation to itself.

3. This article written by Christopher Gaul, associate editor of the Baltimore Catholic Review, is NOT an official document. It has no juridical value. I think the writer tries to be objective. Whether Mr. Gaul chose to write or had to write, I am not sure.

4. There is no prohibition from Church authorities telling Gianna Sullivan NOT to publish the messages she receives from heaven.

5. Cardinal Keeler has never declared, officially and unequivocably, that the messages Gianna Sullivan is receiving are NOT from Heaven. (As a matter of fact, it would be very dangerous for a person to do so without incontestable evidence. One would risk challenging God, thus putting his/her soul in jeopardy.)

6. To declare any apparitions false, the investigating authority would have to prove, beyond any doubt:

a. there is moral certainty that the apparition is not miraculous;
b. the seers are lacking in honesty, sincerity, mental soundness and moral conduct;
c. the messages received by the visionaries are contrary to Church teaching and morals;
d. no positive fruit is generated by the apparitions.

In the case of Gianna Sullivan, none of these criteria have been proven by anyone. To condemn Gianna's mystical experiences without conclusive evidence would be arbitrary and censurable.

Praised be Jesus.

Little ones, in this time, the era of the unveiling of my Sons Divine Mercy, I ask you to be alert and to be very cautious never to boast, whether you are right about someone, some issue or some circumstance, or any situation, regardless whether it be personal or worldly, religious or political. It is very important to remain humble. Humility in the eyes of God is critical for any child of God to be raised to a level where he or she can receive tremendous grace and virtues. It is the only way to enter the Kingdom of God.

I must tell you now not to be so certain that you are victorious when it seems like all is going your way. This country still remains in tremendous danger. Please pray, pray, pray. I invite all people to come as necessary and when able to this the Center of my Immaculate Heart. I invite all the people within this community to accept and welcome with open arms any person who desires to come, whether on pilgrimage, or whether seeking private prayer or for other interior incentives. You cannot, children, desire to have peace and then not welcome outsiders. For all are welcome, because this Center of my Immaculate Heart is for all people, not just for any certain race or creed, nor for just those with a certain political preference. It is for all people, ordinary people. Whether poor or wealthy, all are ordinary people in the eyes of my Son; for there is no favoritism in His Love. You are all invited to love one another. You are all seeking to help one another, to be involved with something so that you yourself know that you are contributing works of Mercy and acts of Charity. This too must begin interiorly by how you think of others.

Please know that I love you all. I cannot overemphasize the importance of humility and of not boasting, of not allowing pride to enter into your hearts and minds, of not passing all error off to someone else, and of being open to this the Center of my Immaculate Heart for all peoples of all faiths. Until there is true Peace, real lasting Peace, do not for one instant think you have gained it, because the true lasting Peace can only be given from above. My Sons Peace works through people who are open to accepting other people without feeling invaded. Whether little or great, people, all people are children of God; and all people desire to be loved and to be accepted. Unity begins at home within the family and within the community, and then it spreads throughout the country and to other nations.

I love you and I bless you in the Name of my Son. May the Holy Trinity dwell within your hearts and minds and be spoken of graciously on your lips for all eternity. Thank you for responding to this plea.

Reflection for the April 12, 2003 Message

Humility is the foundation for spiritual life. In this message, Blessed Mother repeatedly emphasizes the importance of this virtue. All of us, regardless of status, power or wealth, must remain humble, at every moment, in all situations and circumstances.

As she has in previous messages, Our Lady, again, indicates that Emmitsburg is the Center of her Immaculate Heart and she invites her children to come and pray there. People in this area must welcome outsiders.

For the gift of true peace and unity among all Gods children, we must continue to respond to Our Ladys exhortation: "Please pray, pray, pray."

Message from Our Lady of Emmitsburg

For the World

Through Gianna Sullivan

March 13, 2003

Praised be Jesus.

Little ones, it is so necessary today to be all-forgiving and all-loving of one another. Without this, people can harbor resentment and bitterness. When there are anger, the passion of envy, jealousy and hatred, it is hard to forgive. These feelings can result in war. When there is a lack of peace within yourselves, you cannot carry out your functions as servants of God in a peaceful manner. It is difficult to radiate His Light because in the depths of your own souls there is darkness. Throughout history, bitterness and anger have intensified the tensions which have resulted in world wars in many countries across the continents.

The only way you can be a true childof God is to ask for forgiveness, to remain calm, and to know that in your own weaknesses you yourself can be a source of sin for others. If you see one another in the Light of understanding that each of you are sinners, that you can forgive and remain focused on the Lord, and that you know through His Love you can change; then peace can dwell within the world and within humanity, not only among nations, but also within your communities, within your families and within your own hearts and souls.

Those who are true servants of God have Peace within them, even in the midst of turmoil. Division is caused by Satan himself; and wherever I have been throughout history, Satan has tried to cause division, and that division is from him. But the lack of peace in many of my children, the lack of peace within your communities and within the world stems also from the sin within humanity that causes the division to intensify and metastasize.

So it should not alarm you that where I come bringing the Presence of my Son, there too is division. When you speak to others you can always tell where the truth of the matter rests. You can tell by the words, actions, attitudes and genuineness of those involved in the tension. You can tell through their own bitterness and their anger. If they are defensive, if they continue on without allowing peace to exist, if they call you evil, then perhaps it is they themselves who are being divided within their own souls by Satan. It is also because of their fear and because of sin. No one likes to be proven wrong.

So my message to you is to forgive and to maintain your focus on my Son. Those who are true servants of God are those who desire Peace and desire to Love, to forgive and to forget.

Thank you, little ones, for responding to this call.

Reflection on the March 13, 2003 Message

Once more, our Blessed Mother has given us a powerful message. She is helping us to see the truth: to cling to an unforgiving heart is a serious evil. This sin tortures, poisons, infects and destroys the soul! It causes division and spawns wars.

To be true children of God, and to serve effectively, we must be at peace with ourselves and with others. We must have the courage, humility and nobility to acknowledge our faults, to seek forgiveness and to forgive. Let us be both the returning Prodigal Son and the receiving Merciful Father, the Repentant Thief and the Compassionate Jesus.

Message from Our Lady of Emmitsburg
For the World
Through Gianna Sullivan
February 14, 2003
Praised be Jesus.
My little ones, I have told you often that it is so necessary for all of you to focus on my Son, not to be frightened, but to focus and to pray. Many of you have taken my words lightly. Many of you have not believed in my words. Many of you were frightened, and so you scattered and ran away. Because of your fear, you chose not to listen to my words. I told you that it was so necessary for you to focus on my Son, for a time of tribulation was coming; and that if you did not look to my Son now, it would be most difficult later because of the chaos and confusion to follow. Because you did not focus on these words and because of your fear, you spread to so many people the fallacy that my words were not true.
Yet, in the background there I was, praying for you and inviting you to know that the time would come when it would be most necessary for prayer. However, because of the evil and wickedness in the world, not because of humanity per se, but because of the evil, because of free will, because of the lack of prayer, because of the lack of unity and harmony, and because of power and pride, so many people have chosen to go their own ways.
Now we are in an era where all must join together. Once again I invite you. Once again you have free choice because of your free will. I can tell you this, and this only, that sin is taken away when there is faith, faith through works of Love. Please remember this. Know that this is my message and that We are here with you, here not to mislead you, not to divide you, but to gather you.
It is as a Mother who directs you solely and only to my Son that I can invite and thank you, love you and protect you, and wrap you in my most Immaculate Heart. My Center is here (Emmitsburg, Maryland). This is my Center of my most Immaculate Heart. It cannot be any other place, because I have chosen this place. I chose this place because first my Son chose it, and here He is. Where He is, I am too. Where I am and where He is, We invite you to join Us in the blessedness of the Holy Trinity.
I thank you because I am a Mother of grace. I am a Mother of Love, of purity, and of tremendous hope, as I look to you with an invitation to look to my Son Who invites you to be free and safe.
Thank you. Peace to you. I am your Mother, pure and Immaculate, and all of yours as I am all of my Son’s.

Reflection on the Feb. 2003 Message
Emmitsburg, Maryland is particularly dear to our Blessed Mother. It has been chosen as the Center of Her Immaculate Heart. It is being hallowed by Her presence and nourished by works of mercy and love. I dare say, that in the future, like Fatima, Lourdes and Nazareth, this place will become a holy site of pilgrimage, where special graces, blessings, and other heavenly gifts will be obtained through the intercession of the Mother of God.
Tribulations, trials, calamities, catastrophes and many kinds of terrible adversities are appearing on the horizon. There is real threat to our safety. Where to go? Where to hide? Not to remote caves, nor to deep forests, nor can we expect to be taken away in alien space ships, as some have suggested !!! Our Holy Mother advises us to remain focused on Jesus our Savior and take shelter in the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Refuge of Sinners.

Dear Believers and Lovers of Our Lady of Emmitsburg,

Please do not think that I am going to overburden you with communications. This is not my style. It so happens that things are being brought to me, which I know I have to transmit to you.

Now, you may recall that in my last communiqué with you, dated January 17, I did mention that October 7 was once the feast of Our Lady of Victories (a title intimately associated with devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary). Well, I have since been informed that a small grotto and statue of Our Lady of Victories stands on the grounds of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Basilica in Emmitsburg, about 50 yards from the “White House,” in which Mother Seton lived and died ( coincidence?). The plaque in front of the statue reads as follows:

“By the end  of June 1863 an  estimated  90,000 Union soldiers
were located in  and  around these premises, and some of  their
officers situated in  Mother Seton’s  White House  were  planning
battle  strategies.  It  was  feared  that  the  battle will  be fought
here… The sisters  promised  that should this danger be averted,

a  statue of  Notre Dame des Victoires (Our Lady of Victories)
will  be erected. This  promise  was  fulfilled immediately after the
Civil War and for decades this symbol of their Protectress and her
Divine Son has been honored in St. Joseph’s Valley.”

And so, the plan unfolds. As Albert Einstein once said: “God does not play dice.”  Indeed, it has long been my privilege (and mission, I suppose) to attempt to link the apparitions of Our Lady and Our Lord into one beautiful mosaic. This indeed is what I tried to do in my four books entitled A Scientist Researches Mary.

This past week other things were made known to me that have almost completely linked everything together in my search for the total justification of the Emmitsburg area as Heaven’s choice for the Center of Mary’s Immaculate Heart and where Our Lady has prophesied that her Child Jesus would usher in His Eucharistic reign.

“This is the place, the Centre of my Immaculate Heart (speaking of the Emmitsburg area) where my Son’s Divine Mercy will be unveiled. In the name of the Child Jesus I place the seal of protection against evil upon your soul, sanctified by grace for my Son’s glorious reign” (October 21, 1999). Then on March 2, 2002, Our Lady of Emmitsburg said: “Jesus will come a second time and reign… it will not be His final judgment and coming, for this next era will be the Covenant of our Two Hearts, a Eucharistic spiritual reign where the Child Jesus will usher in a kingdom of  peace… for it is the Child Jesus who represents hope and life for all the children of the world.”

Mother Seton, the Eucharist and Mary

Now, with respect to your great American saint, Elizabeth Ann Seton, it is mentioned in Joseph Dirvin’s well-researched book The Soul of Elizabeth Ann Seton that  “two devotions especially captured Elizabeth Seton’s soul. The first was devotion to the Mass and Holy Eucharist; the second, devotion to the Mother of God.” Heaven has obviously chosen this saint and site with very good reason.

The book, The Mother of God and Her Glorious Feasts, was first published in 1925. In Chapter XVII, entitled “Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament”, Fr. H. O’Lavarty, B.A. wrote: “Devotion to the Mother of God is always accompanied with an increase devotion to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Devotion to Mary is merely the way or the road to reach Jesus, and the center and source of all graces is the Holy Eucharist. We see at Lourdes where the Mother of Jesus is honored that the devotion to the Blessed Sacrament increases in this center of holiness just in proportion to the increase in devotion to Mary.”

This now leads me to Mary as the “Ark of the Covenant”, which is the title of my first book.

Mary, Ark of the Covenant

The town Kiriath-jearim in Israel was one of the most hallowed places in the Old Testament because the Ark of the Covenant, the most precious and holy  possession of the Hebrews, had rested there for nearly a century. In fact, a liturgical calendar of the 7th century, Ordo de Fiflis Grego-Palestino, recorded July 2 as the feast of the Ark of Covenant in Kiriath-jearim. Interestingly, July 2, has since been celebrated as the feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Sister Josephine Rumebe of Jerusalem was instrumental in building a new Basilica, Mary Ark of the Covenant, on the site. It is, of course, no coincidence that Sister Josephine was of the Order, the Sisters of St. Joseph !

Now, just as the ancient Ark of the Old Covenant contained within it some of the miraculous manna, which fell from heaven to feed the Israelites on their trek to the Promised Land, so the living Ark of the New Covenant, Mary, when she said ‘yes’ to Gabriel, immediately contained within her womb, not the manna or bread which fell from heaven to feed the Israelites during their journey and yet they died, but the true Bread of Life, the Eucharist, which gives us everlasting life. Her Child was the Prince of Peace and she then became the Queen of Peace.

The Basilica is just 13 kilometers outside Jerusalem on the road to Tel Aviv. On Saturday, November 20, 1994, I traveled to Kiriath-jearim, researching material for my first book. There on the summit of the hill was the large Basilica and on its broad steeple was a statue of the Blessed Virgin with the Child Jesus, the Lord of the New Covenant, on her left arm, while He in His right hand held a Host. The stone statue was between two cherubs on the top of a depiction, also in stone, of the ancient Ark of the Covenant.

Our Lady of the Eucharist

When Her Majesty first appeared in Fatima it was on Sunday, May 13, which at that time was the feast of Our Lady of the Eucharist or Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament. In fact, it was in Fatima that she first stressed the need for the devotion to her Immaculate Heart because, as she said, “the Sacred Heart of Jesus wishes the Immaculate Heart to be venerated at His side.” And so, there again is the link between the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Eucharist. Indeed, it is the two pillars of Don Bosco’s famous dream, the Eucharist and Our Lady. It is therefore of relevant interest that Our Lady of Emmitsburg first appeared to Gianna and her husband Michael and invited them to relocate to Emmitsburg on January 31, 1992. It was on the feast of St. John Bosco!

Fr. Robert Fox, that great mariologist, in his well-researched book Fatima Today, says: “Fatima is reparation, reparation, reparation and especially Eucharistic reparation. Reparation is atonement to God for sins committed against Him by ourselves and others. Indeed, as he also wrote: “The reparation we make through the Immaculate Heart of Mary is ultimately reparation to God. Mary’s heart is inseparable from the Sacred Heart of Jesus. As she herself said; ‘My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God.’”

In fact, it was revealed in Fatima that in the end the Immaculate Heart of Mary will triumph, and, according to Fr. Fox, “that triumph will be of Eucharistic one.” How interesting! It was also revealed by Our Lady that the work begun in Fatima will be concluded in Emmitsburg:  “I have been waiting for 2000 years to fulfill the plan God the Farther has commissioned me to bear the fruits of my Son’s redemption, Through my Immaculate Heart I will obtain for you from my Blessed Son every grace, justice, charity and peace. What commenced in Fatima with my three little children will continue now and come to fruition here at the Center of My Immaculate Heart” (May 11, 2000).

The Child Jesus appears to Lucia

Of course, God could have come to Earth as a full adult, but He chose to come as a little Child. And so, when the Word was made Flesh, it was at first the Flesh of the Child Jesus. It was little Jesus Eucharist. Let us not also forget that on December 10, 1925, when the Mother of God appeared to Sr. Lucia in her convent in Pontevedra, Spain, the Child Jesus was by her side. They were elevated on a cloud of light and in one hand Our Lady held a heart surrounded by sharp thorns. The Child Jesus then spoke to Lucia: “ Have pity on the heart of your Most Holy Mother. It is covered with the thorns with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment and there is no one to remove them with an act of reparation.”

The Child Jesus returned to Sr. Lucia, this time alone, on February 15, 1926, and asked that the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary be propagated. I was most interested in Fr. Fox’s interpretation of the visit of the Child Jesus. He said: “His appearance as a Child rather than as an adult in these two apparitions has special meaning. It suggests the disposition which we should have when carrying out this devotion.”

So said,  the Infant Jesus of Prague has a long and interesting history. As one Fr. Emmerich in his biography stressed, they call Him “Prince of Peace.” Rev. Ludvic Nemec, in his book The Infant Jesus of Prague, wrote: “In modern times, when the entire orbit is threatened by destructive nuclear weapons, an everlasting peace is much to be desired for the sake of every nation, His Patronage, as Prince of Peace, is needed more than ever.” This was published as far back as 1978! He also said in his book: “The devotion provides spiritual uplift for millions who have adopted the Holy Infant’s call to humility, simplicity, and sincerity¯to become little in order to become great and pleasing before Christ the King.”

On July 15, 1999, Our Lady of Emmitsburg said to the world: “The only way you can develop an intimate relationship with God Almighty is by becoming ‘little’. You must decrease in all ways and He must increase in all ways. You must accept the enlightenment of your weaknesses and embrace them, for it is in your weaknesses that you are made powerful in the eyes of God.”

     The Commission of Inquiry

With respect to its judgment on the Eucharistic spiritual reign of the Child Jesus, this is what the Commission of Inquiry appointed by the Archdiocese of Baltimore had to say: “The Church does not look forward to the return of this Child, lovable as He was… To say the least, such a spirituality is not the traditional Church teaching about the Eucharist mystery. It may well be a comforting devotion for the visionary, but it cannot claim to be a private revelation of divine inspiration, to be presented as a divine message for the public. To try and shift the focus from a ‘child’ to ‘littleness’ is to displace the issue.”

My dear fellow believers, on the contrary, the Child Jesus is the epitome of “littleness”. This, in fact, is the issue for unless we change and become like little children we will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven (Matt.18:3).

As Fr. Albert Hebert, S.M., a Maris priest, once wrote: “God speaks to us first and foremost through the Holy Scriptures then through the teachings of the Church and also through private revelations. So said, there were many remarks made by the Commission of Inquiry which also betray the fact that they are not well-versed in the revelations of approved private apparitions of the Mother of God, particularly those in Fatima and later to Sr. Lucia.

The Eucharistic Reign

That God would want a “Eucharistic reign” is not at all surprising. In fact, one has heard so many instances of priests pushing aside Jesus in the Tabernacle (The Holy of Holies) from a position of central prominence, and also minimizing the spiritual essence and value of Eucharistic adoration. There is, of course, no secret of how the Blessed Virgin is related to the Eucharist. It is she who gave the Child His body and His Blood. As Pope John Paul II says in his encyclical Redemptoris Mater: “Mary guides the faithful to the Eucharist.” Indeed, in a decree, dated September 12, 1963, his predecessor Pope Paul VI declared the Most Blessed Virgin Mary as ”Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament.” The Eucharist is the Sacrament of the New and Everlasting Covenant and Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament was the first Tabernacle of the Most High. She is the Ark of the Covenant.
The Child Jesus in the Host

Last night I was suddenly drawn to my home library and happened to see a book by Joan Carroll Cruz. It was Eucharistic Miracles. In one of her chapters she wrote commentaries on the visions of some of the great saints. “One recipient of such favours,” she said “was St. Philip Neri (d.1595). After the Consecration, St. Philip saw the Host transform itself into the Child Jesus. The saint’s rapture was noticed by others in the church. To those who questioned him about this, he confided that the beauty of the vision surpassed earthly description.”

She also documented that  “once the Child Jesus appeared in a spectacular manner to St. Lawrence of Brindisi, a native of Naples, who belonged to the Capuchin Order. His chief biographer recorded: ‘One day the Blessed Lawrence, during the Sacrifice of the Mass, immediately after the Consecration, saw the Saviour Himself, visibly, in the sacred Host. He was under the form of a little Child who caressed Lawrence and smiled on him lovingly.’”

Joan Cruz also recorded that “on a Christmas Day, St. Catherine of Siena knelt in silence before a crib and was privileged to behold the Virgin Mother who placed the Infant Jesus in her arms. After caressing him and whispering words of love, she returned Him to His Mother. Later, during Holy Mass, she saw the Infant emerge from the Host.”

And so, I have shown quite clearly, not only the heavenly role and importance of the Child Jesus and also in His association with the Eucharist, but I have also shown that in her Church-approved apparitions Our Lady has appeared with the Child Jesus. My personal interpretation is that she may appear at an appropriate time (soon) with the Child Jesus just as she brought Him into the world in His first Coming. But it is the Child Jesus who will usher in His Eucharistic spiritual reign. What does this fully mean? It certainly does not mean that the Child Jesus will walk the face of the earth. All I can say at this stage is that it is not for me to dogmatize. God, it is said, sometimes writes straight on crooked lines. I am only a scientist who, believes in God and His Mother¯and in the scientific evidence that Gianna Talone-Sullivan is in true ecstasy when Our Lady appears to her.

As I said before, on September 24, 1989 Pope John Paul II gave a talk on ‘Science and Faith’ to the professors and students of the University if Pisa, Italy where Galileo once taught. He said: “People of science are also called upon to practice their own special priesthood. Yes, in a certain sense, every true scientist is a priest… Precisely because they perceive more and more profoundly, the greater is their duty, on the one hand to recognize, praise, admire and thank God in all the elements of His Creation, and on the other, to make and an honest and responsible use of their ingenuity and the great and small achievements which spring from it.”  More recently he added: “ Science can purify religion from error and superstition, religion can purify science from idolatry and false absolutes, each can draw the other into a wider world, a world in which both can flourish… Such bridging ministries must be nurtured and encouraged.”

Finally, I will soon be sending you by email a short chapter in my latest book Her Majesty Mary Queen of Peace, entitled “The Meaning of Devotion to the Immaculate Heart?” It’s all there.

I thank you for responding to her call.
