Today's date: 3/25/2001 Feast of the Annunciation
Date of experience: December 11-12, 2000 Midnight Prayer Service
It was approx. 11:30pm on December 11, 2000 inside the Immaculate Heart of Mary Prayer Center in Elyria, OH. A friend (Mrs. Andrea (John) Mueller) and i were preparing to walk to the Lake of Tears for the midnight prayer service. The weather was a little breezy and relatively warm and misty and drizzling as we walked. It was pitch dark except for a few flashlights pilgrims used to light the way. At the Lake of Tears a big construction light on the west side of the lake lit the grounds making it easy for the pilgrims to settle in. We settled in on the East side of the Lake looking across the lake to an area that was fit up for Maureen and Don, Maureens's husband, and the prayer leader with speakers, microphone and the construction light.
At approx. 11:50pm people began to pray Hail Mary's one after the other until sometime around midnight the announcement came that the prayer service was about to begin. The construction light was turned off. I believe we started our prayer with the meditation on the Seven Sorrows of Mary before beginning the rosary. In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit........as this was said the wind picked up significantly and the darkness vanished and everyone could see each other. The darkness from the racing clouds, which were moving from the west to the east, vanished briefly as they parted and revealed a huge full moon which was visible for no more than 3-4 seconds before collapsing and enveloping everyone in darkness again. The clouds parted one more time for a second or two before finally closing for the last time. As we continued to pray the wind and rain increased slightly. On the western horizon a pale yellow glow was now visible. We then heard thunder rumbling in the distance from the west. In a matter of minutes the weather turned from passive to fierce. It began to rain, the wind increased again as we entered the first sorrowful mystery, The Agony in the Garden. The temperature began to drop and snow started to mix with the rain. At the end of the first decade we prayed "Jesus, Protect and save the Unborn" as requested by Jesus to be said at the end of each decade. At the moment this prayer for the unborn was completed, the most beautiful, brilliant, illuminated, massive blue light appeared in a huge cloud to our west for an instant before vanishing.
As we entered each successive sorrowful mystery the weather became more fierce and intense. I had a big Wilson golf umbrella with me which I was using to shield a group of five women from the wind, rain and snow. As we entered the third sorrowful mystery, The Crowning with the Thorns, the wind increased significantly (it was during this mystery of the rosary that Our Lady came and gave a beautiful message). As we were finishing the third sorrowful mystery the wind became so strong that all the wires of my umbrella were bent downwards and made the umbrella useless. The brilliant blue light in the sky kept appearing in the cloud throughout the entire rosary and it seemed that this cloud was stationary and did not move with other clouds that were racing by with the wind. As the wind, and now only rain, were approaching their strongest moments, the beautiful blue light began to shift from the west to the east. This shift positioned our backs to the wind as we continued to follow the beautiful light display God was giving us....he was protecting us from the storm while in the midst of the storm. On the eastern horizon a reddish glow could be seen. As we entered the fourth and fifth Sorrowful Mysteries two alternating glows of pale pink and white flashed repeatedly beneath the massive blue light which was being displayed more frequently and lasting a bit longer before vanishing. The alternating flashes of pale pink and white lasted to the end of the rosary.
When the rosary was finished, the entire light display ended too. The rain and wind diminished slightly as we entered the car to head home. Five to ten minutes later on Interstate 10 going West, Mrs. Mueller said, "We sure were blessed tonight!". As soon as she said this, one final brilliant blue light appeared in the sky for a brief moment - one final wink from Love confirming her words.. It was now approx. 1:30am December 12, 2000, Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
We found out the next day that the winds had been clocked at 50-60 mph. It was said later that people living within 10-20 miles of the apparition site had called into the TV and radio stations wondering what was going on, thinking explosions were occurring. A day or two later, the Raleigh News and Observer had an article on the numerous power outages and fallen trees that had been knocked down on 12/12/00 in Eastern Ohio, Northern PA, and NY from this same storm.
A personal observation and reflection:
The weather forecast for December 12, 2000 on December 11 was calling for 4-6" of snow and i was wondering whether i should be heading back to NC after the midnight prayer service. I decided to stay in OH and let tomorrow take care of itself. As it turned out the storm that was predicted went north and we had a beautiful, mostly sunny day on the 12th. I reflected back on the weather of the past 12 hours and saw a message from the Lord in it all:
"When everything around you is out of control or you are in difficult or troublesome situations - stay focused on Me in prayer and I will see you through it to a better day. Don't be concerned about tomorrow, or how things will be taken care of, or when they will be better - focus only on Loving Me, Trusting Me, Surrendering all difficulties and situations to Me, and Pray, Pray, Pray and you will know that I am with you and will provide you with Peace through it all".

MaryAnn from the Holy Love Prayer Center was kind enough to send a copy of the picture to me recently. Surrender then to My message of Holy Love and allow Me to lead you into the Heart of My Most Beloved Son. Heaven weeps for those who have not been reconciled with God and who through their own will have formed an abyss between themselves and Heaven." "Understand, My children, that just as the wind races by you tonight, [50-60 mph winds] so too the present moment is fleeting. The present moment is your opportunity to become saints, to become holy."

I have come to you today vested under this title as I came hundreds of years ago, to put an end to the pagan sacrifice of human life. If your country would lead the world out of the darkness of abortion, God would bless it and show His Favor upon it. Once again your nation would regain prestige as a just and righteous nation under God ? a leader to be trusted amongst all nations."
"Partial reversal of this heinous practice of abortion is a compromise, just as a person cannot surrender part of his heart to God and give the other part over to mortal sin. Therefore, never be satisfied with half measures."

The one who is self-centered, that is, consumed with self-love will be unable to surrender as I ask."

You were created to know and love God, and to share eternity with Me. Your wants very well may not lead you to this end. But the Will of My Father is perfect, eternal and all-encompassing. How foolish not to trust in His Will for you, then. If you do not trust it is because you do not love as you should. Love is the virtue that shines through every virtue, especially trust."
