Night of The Big Snowstorm

Last year I wrote about a priest, Father Ben, who had served as a soldier in WWII and became a priest after a "strange incident" happened to him. Ben's patrol was behind German lines and they came upon a bombed church. Inside the church was the remains of a cross of Jesus [that had been above the altar] but a bomb had blown-off the head and hands. The Germans had spotted his platoon and suddenly the Germans started shelling the church with huge guns (called 88s). Ben had to run out of the church and headed into the woods. That night it started to snow heavily [large snowstorm] and Ben looked up at the snow falling on his face [1944] and asked God what was the meaning of that statue with no head or hands. Ben said he heard the answer very clearly: "Ben, you be my head and my hands!". Father Ben was ordained in 1949.

Several weeks ago our church was asked to pray for Father Ben who was diagnosed with an advanced case of cancer. Father Ben was to undergo surgery but some of the cancer maybe inoperable. Yesterday at Mass it was announced Father Ben had called our Parish to say thanks for all the prayers because the doctors could find No Cancer in any organ and no surgery was performed. There were no cancer cells in the blood anywhere. It was totally gone!

Funny thing, Father Ben was in Connecticut for the surgery - it was the night the big snowstorm was predicted to hit.

Father Ben has a special love for Our Lady and St. Joseph. Thanks for all your Novena Prayers and thank you St Joseph!
