Theme: "BE CHANNELS OF PEACE"
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Good morning on this cold but sunny day! We had some snow overnight and with the wind there is some drifting this morning. I'll have to wait for the blower before I can get out of my driveway. I was at the prayer meeting last evening. Despite the storm there were 44 people present. I celebrated the Holy Eucharist with the group and we thanked the Lord for all He does in our lives.
Jesus spoke to me about peace this morning. He began by saying, "Melvin, my dear friend, I love you. Peace be with you, my brothers and sisters. In a world that is preparing for war, I wish to give you my peace today. Let this divine gift penetrate your soul and fill you completely. The peace I give is not the same as the peace the world gives. The world can give only a poor imitation of this peace. This peace of mine comes as a result of a deep communion with me which rides above all your cares and worries. It is a special grace from my heart. Absence of hostility is not necessarily peace because there can still be resentment and animosity in your hearts. You cannot have peace without love and forgiveness. Forgive all those who harm you in any way and begin to love them and you will have peace. Where there is peace, I am present there for I am the author of peace. Invite me into your heart and I will bring you this precious gift of peace. Pray daily for this gift and I will give it to you. Your peace will then flow to others and fill them too. Be channels of peace to your brothers and sisters for so many live in turmoil. I bless you all."
Peace is a wonderful gift from the Lord! Jesus is generous with His gift and I can assure you that I live always in this great peace. I always thank Him for this gift of peace. If we live in union with the Lord, He will shower us with peace. That is why it is so necessary to spend time with Him in prayer. If you do not have peace in your heart, examine your conscience to find out why. Are you living in a situation which is contrary to the will of God? Do you have any resentments in your heart? Do you refuse to forgive a person who hurt you? If we do not have peace, it could be that we are living in sin. We have to ask pardon for our sins and the Lord will restore this peace to us. We need to be in communion with Jesus in order to have this gift. When we have peace in our hearts, we can be channels of peace for others. It will flow to all those with whom we are in contact. Today more than ever we need peace and the protection of the Lord in a world that is heading for war.
Today is the ninth day of our novena for Michelle. Tomorrow will be a day of thanksgiving for all the graces the Lord has given to her. I will go to her home this afternoon to celebrate the Holy Eucharist with her and her family. Let us continue to offer her up to the Lord for this great healing.
Let us all come close to Jesus and live with Him.

Theme: "BECOME A PROFOUND LISTENER"
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
I spent my time of contemplative prayer with Jesus who spoke to me saying, "Melvin, you are my special brother, I love you. Many years ago, I placed you in my heart and you have been there ever since that day. This is your place of refuge where I protect you and fill you with my love. I want to place all my brothers and sisters too in my heart. I love you all and I want to lead you to your home in heaven. I need your consent to place you in my heart. If you are in my heart, you will be completely free from any slavery or attachment. You will be filled with joy to work together with me by helping others. In times of trials, I will be with you to give you strength to go through them. You must bend your will to mine as you come to know it through prayer and the teachings of the church. You need to discern the ways of the evil one and never give in to his temptations. Grow in your relationship with me every day through prayer especially contemplative prayer, the prayer of the heart so preferred by me. Become a profound listener for I have much to tell you. May your heart filled with love lead you to me. Bring me your sufferings and your problems and I will enlighten you and refresh you. I love you."
Jesus refreshed my memory this morning by bringing me to the day that He placed me in His Heart. It was during the 30-day retreat in Jerusalem that He placed me there with my consent. I know I had attachments and I was not free completely. Since that time He has taken most of these away. I am not perfect far from it but the Lord has removed many obstacles in the way of my relationship with Him. The result is great freedom to come to Him and the gift of peace and joy. In any trial I go to Jesus and He brings me through it with His help. I have learned to listen to Him especially through contemplative prayer. He speaks to my heart every day. The greatest time of the day is just being with Him in prayer. Time and place disappear and I am united with Him who is my greatest friend. This surely is the foretaste of heaven. In Him I can love all my brothers and sisters and bring them all to Him that He may help them. Jesus wants this close relationship with every one of us. Let us open the ears of our heart and listen profoundly to His words.
May the Lord bless you and fill your hearts with His love.
Father Melvin
P.S. I had the visit of Shane and Blye yesterday who are getting ready to be united as husband and wife in the sacrament of matrimony. I will have the joy to bless their marriage on February 22. Please remember them in your prayers.

Theme: "MARY IS MY MOTHER AND YOUR MOTHER TOO"
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
As today is the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, Jesus spoke to me about Our Mother. He began by saying, "Melvin, my brother, I love you. Today the Church celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. My Mother appeared to Bernadette in the south of France to announce to her that she was 'the Immaculate Conception' and to call the people to prayer. Since her appearance there, many people have been healed in the miraculous waters of the spring she asked Bernadette to start. Melvin, Our Mother has also come to visit you to request a shrine on the Island. It will be a holy place where many people will come to ask for her help. She asked you in the meantime to build a prayer room attached to your house. It is a private room for prayers where Our Mother will be present to welcome every person. I will be there too with her. One day a fitting shrine will be built in her honour under the title of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. She has chosen the Island because there are no abortions performed on its soil. If the people build her this shrine, she will protect the Island from all abortions forever. My brothers and sisters, when you honour My Mother, you honour me for she is very close to my heart. Pray the rosary every day in her honour. Mary is My Mother and your Mother too. I bless you all."
I had the joy to visit the shrine in Lourdes, France, twice in the past. I spent nearly a week there the first time. It is a hallowed place made holy by Our Lady herself. Jesus, this morning, speaks about this shrine known throughout the world. He also spoke about her visits to me and about her request for a shrine here. Jesus knows that one day a beautiful shrine will be built here in her honour. I hope when the winter is over to build the prayer room she requested in December. It will be a private place where people will come to pray and ask for her help. She promised to be present there. Jesus will be there too. Jesus calls us to honour His Mother. How could we love Jesus if we do not honour His Mother whom He loves so much? In loving Our Blessed Mother, we love Jesus too. He asks us this morning to pray the rosary daily. He tells us again today what He said before dying on the cross that Mary is also Our Mother. She will definitely bring us to her Son.
Let us thank Jesus for giving us Mary to be Our Mother and let us have a great devotion to her.
Father Melvin
P.S. I am sorry to let you know that I will not be able to go on the cruise to Greece and Turkey in May 2003. I pray that those who will go will have an enjoyable time and be renewed in mind and spirit.

Theme: "FULFILL YOUR CALLING IN LIFE"
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
My prayer time was spent with Jesus and God the Father. Jesus was the first to speak saying, "Melvin, you are mine, I love you. Let us go to visit Our Father in heaven this morning." I agreed and Jesus took me to His throne. I knelt before Him in adoration. The Father then spoke saying, "Greetings Jesus and Melvin and come and sit near me. It is a joy to welcome you. Jesus, My Son, we are always united in perfect love. You always fulfill my will completely. Melvin, my priest son, I bless you and all my sons and daughters. Jesus is your Brother who made me known to you. I want to hold you all for you are all dear to me. In these end times, it is important that you not lose sight of your destination. You are made for the bliss of heaven in order to be united with me, with Jesus and the Holy Spirit forever. Cooperate every day with the graces you are given. Bring my light and my love to every person you meet. Tell them that I care for them and that they are in my heart. Repent of all your sins and I will take them all away. Live in union with Jesus and fulfill your calling in life every day. You all have a special role to play given to you by me. It is in following this calling that you will find great peace and joy. I love you all."
Today the Father's heart goes out to all of us, His children. We were created for a special reason and we all have a special calling from God. We have to go to the Lord to find out what our calling is. Let us listen attentively to His word. No one else can do the work we are called to do. It is in doing the Lord's will that we will have the joy and happiness we are seeking. We might have to take care of a sick person in our family or to be there for someone who is hurting. We might have to offer our prayers and good works to the Lord for the conversion of those far away from God. We need to prepare for the work the Lord has for us. It is in deep prayer that this call of the Lord will come to us. Some too are called to be priests, religious sisters or brothers in order to serve others in the name of the Lord. It is very important that we find out what the Lord wants us to do and to carry out His will as perfectly as possible. We have to let Him lead us every day. What joy it is to do the will of God every day.
May the Lord reveal to each one of us what our calling is and may we respond wholeheartedly to His will.

Theme: "MY HEART BURNS FOR YOU"
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
I spent a wonderful half hour with Jesus this morning. He spoke to me saying, "Melvin, my brother, I love you. My love for you and all my brothers and sisters is pure unconditional love. There is no self- interest in my love for you and there is nothing I wish to get from you. It is purely from the heart. I want only what is good for you. I wish to carry you in my heart as you carry me in yours. When you are filled with joy then my joy is full. When you are concerned with a problem or you are going through a trial, then I am concerned too. My Father cares for you too for He gave you an angel to be with you every day to guard you from harm and to guide you. Your Guardian Angel has only your welfare in mind. Listen when he whispers to you. I am sad when you commit sin but immediately I give you the grace to repent and to return to me. My love for you is everlasting. You are mine and I will never abandon you. Another name for me is LOVE. Love for you is the reason why I was born a human being; love is the reason why I proclaimed the Good News to you and love for you is the only reason I died on the cross. All I ask of you is that you love me in return. My heart burns for you. I bless you all."
My heart was melting in my chest while Jesus was speaking to me this morning. What infinite love He has for us. He proved it by His Passion and death on the Cross. He has great respect for each one of us because He loves us. We are surrounded by love at all times by the God of love. How are we responding to this great love? How can we be cold to this heart burning with love for us? My dear friends, show your love for Jesus today by going to Church, by thanking Him for all He does for us, and by serving Him by serving our brothers and sisters. Let us pray every day and express our love to Him from a grateful heart.
Let us open our hearts today to the burning love of Jesus and let us love Him in return.

Theme: "GIVE PRAISE TO GOD FOR HIS GOODNESS TO YOU"
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
I was with Jesus and Our Blessed Mother this morning. Jesus spoke first saying, "Melvin, my friend and companion, I love you. Let us go, on this day dedicated to Our Blessed Mother, to visit her." I happily said "yes" and Jesus took me to her home. She greeted us saying, "Welcome Jesus and Melvin and please come in. You are always welcomed in the home of your Mother. I am sad today because another war is coming. Many people will suffer and die in this terrible tragedy. Pray, my children, that it will be averted and peace may reign. Peace is a gift from God to all who follow Him. Jesus, My Son, is the giver of peace. If you are His friend, you will have this gift. Accept Him for He loves you and He gave His life for you. There is a new awakening beginning among you. The power of the Holy Spirit is being poured upon you. Take advantage of this gift and open your heart to the Spirit. Be docile as He gently leads you to Jesus, My Son, and strengthens you. The Spirit will fill you with His peace and joy. Give praise to God for His goodness to you. I love you all, my children, and I want you to follow Jesus, your Brother and Saviour."
Our Blessed Mother is sad this morning because of the terrible danger we are in these days. War could begin in the next few weeks between Iraq and the West. This could escalate and involve the whole of the Middle East and terrorism could begin again. Our Lady calls us to pray for peace for this gift comes from God. She also speaks about the new awakening that She sees beginning. This comes through the power of the Holy Spirit. Let us thank and praise God for His goodness. Let us open our heart to the Spirit that He may lead us and strengthen us to follow Jesus.
As usual Our Lady points to Her Son, Jesus, and She wants us to do whatever He asks of us.
Let us allow Our Blessed Mother to bring us to Jesus and let us listen to Him.

Theme: "BE SORRY FOR ALL YOUR SINS"
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
I was with Jesus in prayer this morning. He spoke to me saying, "Melvin, my friend, I love you. Prisons are usually full of people who have broken the law. Some spend many years in these institutions depending on how serious their crimes are. It is the role of the state to deal with criminals who have broken its laws. However, what is more serious is sin which offends Our Heavenly Father who is the Creator of every human being. As everything comes from the hand of the Father, even life itself, it is fitting that you show reverence to Him and that you worship Him. You are called to love God with your whole heart, mind and strength. The Father has given you the ten commandments and you are to obey these commandments. Because of your pride you refuse to obey the Father and deliberately sin against Him. There is nothing more deplorable, more horrible in the eyes of the Father than sin. Sin is the reason why I had to suffer the Passion and to die in such torments on the cross. My blood was spilled for you to atone for those sins of yours because I love you. Be assured that the Father is merciful and He is ready to forgive you your sins if you repent from the heart. He washes your sins away and reinstates you as His beloved children. He will never remember your sins again. The Father has no prisons on earth. He does not force anyone to come to Him. He just invites all to repent and go to confession. Be sorry for all your sins. I bless you all."
The words of Jesus today reveal the perverted heart that we have. Because of our pride we refuse to love and obey Our God and Creator. Everything we have comes from God even our own life. As children of the Father, we should be thankful for all He has given us. We should be ready to serve Him every day. Yet so often we offend Him. We turn against Him and deliberately sin against Him. Jesus says that there is nothing more horrible than sin. It cost Him His life. We know that God loves us and that He is merciful. If we repent, the Father will pardon our sins and restore us as His beloved children. Whenever we sin, let us return with sorrow in our hearts to our loving Father. Jesus gave the Apostles and their successors the power to forgive sin in His name (John 20: 21 - 23). So all Christians should take advantage of this great gift by receiving the forgiveness of their sins in the Sacrament of Reconciliation or Confession. In this sacrament we receive the grace to fight more firmly against all temptations.
Let us go before the merciful Lord today and repent of all our sins.

Theme: "I LOVE A HUMBLE HEART"
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Here is the message I received from Jesus in prayer this morning: "Melvin, my friend, I am with you, I love you. It is in the Holy Spirit that I make all things new. If you are in the Holy Spirit then you are a new being for my life is in you. It is for this renewal that a strong and new infusion of the Spirit has now started. Have you opened your heart to Him? Have you professed your faith in me as your Saviour? Did you make a commitment to follow me all the days of your life? The Holy Spirit will help you if you decide to break habits that offend me. Watch your tongue for it can injure the closest members of your family and your friends. Do not take any person for granted. Love them all and pray for them. Let the Spirit work in you to renew your relationship with me by giving you a new heart filled with humility and trust. I love a humble heart that relies on me for everything. Imitate me for I am meek and humble of heart. Pray from the heart and I will answer your prayer. You are mine and I love you as my brother or sister. Remain with me always. I bless you."
Jesus spoke again about the New Pentecost which has started and He wants every person to receive the Holy Spirit in a powerful way. He has three questions for us today. He asked us if we have opened our heart to the Holy Spirit and invited Him in. We have to make an act of faith in the Lord as Our Saviour. The third question is about our commitment to Him. He calls us to give ourselves completely to Him to do His will. We all have habits which bring us away from God. Some have the habit to use the name of God in vain. Others gossip, nurse hurts and are very negative. In many cases our tongues are our worst enemy. Let us keep a check on what we say. Let us pray for all those we know and let us forgive them if they have hurt us in any way. Jesus loves a humble heart and He will answer the prayers of the humble. Let us remain close to Jesus for He is a brother to us.
This is the second day of the novena to Our Lady for Michelle. I thank you all for praying for her. May Jesus bless you all with His peace.

Theme: "I WILL CARRY YOU IN MY ARMS"
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Today I will be at Tignish Parish Church for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 10:30 A.M. The roads around here are very icy today.
I spent a half hour with Jesus this morning in prayer. He spoke to me saying, "Melvin, you are mine, I love you. Today is the feast of St. Agatha, a dear virgin martyr of the early church. She was not afraid to suffer and die for what she believed. Because of her great love for me, she was strong to face a horrible death in imitation of me. The world has not changed. Many people are killed now too because of their love for me. I assure you that all martyrs enter heaven and live in glory with me. My brothers and sisters, do not be discouraged when you have to suffer at times. It is at such times that you are being conformed to me. In all times of trials and sufferings remain close to me and you will receive all the graces you need. Many too are persecuted even by those who should strengthen them but I am there with them and I give them my peace. Like Agatha, let your love be strong to love even those who hurt you and persecute you. Forgive them as I forgave my persecutors from the cross. I will carry you in my arms when the pain is too great. Do not forget to come daily for a heart to heart talk with me. I will always love you."
St. Agatha, whose feast is celebrated today, died in Rome during the persecutions of 249 - 251 A.D. She was tortured cruelly and St. Peter is said to have appeared to her and healed her. She died the following day of new cruelties. The martyrs imitate Jesus by dying a violent death at the hands of their persecutors. Yet through it all they remain steadfast in their faith in Jesus. They form the glorious pages of the Church of Christ. We all suffer at times during our lives. Some suffer physically, others mentally or psychologically and still others suffer spiritually. Although we fear suffering, we cannot escape it completely in this world. Whenever we suffer let us suffer together with Jesus, Our Saviour, who offered His life to the Father for our salvation. Let us suffer together with Jesus for the conversion of sinners and for peace in the world. Let us also offer our suffering to Jesus for reparation for our own sins and for the sins of the world. We can also pray for the cure of the sick for Jesus cured many when He was in this world. This is why I ask you all to begin the novena for Michelle today. May the Lord cure her through the intercession of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island.
May our love for the Lord grow every day.

Theme: "LISTEN, MY CHILDREN, TO MY CALL TODAY"
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
I was with Jesus and the Father in prayer this morning. Jesus began by saying, "Melvin, my beloved brother, I love you. I wish to bring you this morning to visit Our Heavenly Father." I said "yes" to Jesus and He brought me to the Father's throne. I knelt before God the Father in adoration. The Father spoke to us saying, "Greetings Jesus and Melvin, come and sit beside me. Jesus, My Precious Son, I thank you for being the Saviour of the world. Melvin, my son, I have blessed you and I bless you again. I have created the whole world and all that is in it for man to use it intelligently and not destroy it. I created all the billions of people out of love and I put in their hearts this spark of love. They will only know me if they have love in their heart. Yet what darkness and hatred reign in the world today! I am speaking to you, my children, before it is too late. Return to me before you fall into the abyss and there is no way to return. Follow Jesus, your Saviour and guide. He will lead you to me. I want to embrace each one of you and to welcome you to your Father's home one day. Live as my children in the power of the Holy Spirit and follow the teachings of Jesus, My Son, which He left to the Church. Listen, my children, to my call today. I bless you all."
At the end of the Father's message, I thanked Him for His words today. What love He has for each one of us. He knows us all by name for He created us in His own image and likeness. The signs that we are from God are easily recognized in us. We have an immortal spiritual soul and God is also spiritual and immortal. We are intelligent beings and God is all intelligent. We have a great capacity for love for we were made by the God of love. We are destined for heaven where God reigns. We are the children of God for God is Our Father. His love is perfect and divine as Jesus, the Son of God, showed us by His suffering and death on the cross in order to make us all the beloved children of the Father. Jesus suffered and died instead of us to show us how much He loves us. We owe everything to the Father for He provides us with all our needs. Should we not listen to such a loving Father? How can we turn our backs to Him? Let us live as His children in obedience to His will. Let Jesus be our guide and His teachings our food.
A dear couple well known to me were inspired in prayer yesterday to ask every person who reads these messages to make a novena of nine days to Our Lady of Prince Edward Island for the cure of Michelle Thibodeau, for whom we have been praying for a while now. She had leukemia and was given a marrow transplant, now her body is rejecting this new marrow and she has only 10 to 15% use of her lungs. She is getting weaker and only prayers can help her. Kindly begin a novena tomorrow, Wednesday, February 5, and continue until February 14 which will be the day of thanksgiving. During the novena please pray the prayer to Our Lady of Prince Edward Island found below.
Prayer to Our Lady of Prince Edward Island
O Blessed Virgin Mary,
We Your children come to You to ask Your help.
Pray Heavenly Mother, that Your Island may remain free
Mother, we have made Your desire our own,
Let us all abandon ourselves in the arms of the Father and open our hearts to His love.

Theme: "CHILDREN OF THE KINGDOM WILL PRAY OFTEN"
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Now I will send you the message in my prayer of this morning. I was with Jesus who spoke saying, "Melvin, I live in your heart, I love you. My joy is to find a home in your hearts, my brothers and sisters. I want to live there with the Father and the Holy Spirit. We wish to be your guests if you will permit us. If we live in your heart, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you. This is the Kingdom I won for you by my death and sacrifice on the cross. You cannot see the Kingdom but you know it by the peace I give you. Only sin can keep you from entering the Kingdom. Repent of your sins and invite us into your heart. As members of the Kingdom of God you will have the first preliminary taste of heaven. The Church is the door to the Kingdom with her seven sacraments. It is through Baptism that a person enters the Kingdom I established in the world. The Eucharist is the food needed for those who belong to the Kingdom. Children of the Kingdom will love to pray and they will pray often. Prayer is needed in order to be a living member of the Kingdom. I bless you all."
In the Bible Jesus speaks often about the Kingdom of God. In Mark 1, 15, Jesus said, "This is the time of fulfillment. The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the Gospel." Jesus is the one who introduced the Kingdom of God when He was on earth. He calls us all to enter the Kingdom and we do this by the sacrament of Baptism. We will have the fullness of the Kingdom only in heaven. Through the Holy Eucharist we have the food necessary for the journey in this world as members of the Kingdom. As children of the Kingdom we will pray often for we need to be close to Jesus all the time.
May the Kingdom of God reign in our hearts and may we love God and love one another as Jesus taught us.

Theme: "I AM YOUR LIGHT"
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
In my prayer this morning, I was with Jesus who spoke to me saying, "Melvin, sharer in my priesthood, I love you. Today you and all those who believe are celebrating my Presentation to the Father. My parents brought me to the Temple in Jerusalem to offer me up to the Lord. I was only an infant at the time. It was a custom of the Jews to offer their first male child to the Heavenly Father. I had come into the world to do the Father's will. I would carry out His will to the end by dying on the cross to offer myself to Him in sacrifice for your salvation. Simeon proclaimed in the Temple that day that I was the light to the Gentiles. Indeed, I am the light that pierces the darkness of this world. I came to chase away the evil one who had the world in his grip. I am the light for your minds and hearts for I enlighten you with the truth and I come to live in your hearts if you invite me. If I live in you, your light too will shine. It will chase away fear and bring peace and joy to you all. Dear friends, walk in the light and you will not stumble. I am your light. I love you."
I feel like old Simeon this morning. He was so full of joy in holding the child Jesus in his arms. The Holy Spirit had led him into the Temple at the precise time that Mary and Joseph brought the child Jesus to offer Him to the Father. He had been told by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he beheld the child. He recognized the Messiah through a special grace and gave thanks to the Lord. He spoke the truth in prophecy that Jesus was the light of revelation to us and that a sword would pierce Our Lady's soul. Let us open our heart so that the Light of the world may enter our hearts and fill it with the Holy Spirit.
May this feast bring peace and joy to us all.

Theme: TOMORROW IS THE FEAST OF THE PRESENTATION IN THE TEMPLE
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Together with a group I listened to the first tape of Fr. John Corapi last evening. He spoke about the Blessed Virgin Mary and relates that he saw her three times in his life. He also tells his story from millionaire to rags and to the priesthood.
In my prayer this morning, I was with Jesus and Our Blessed Mother. Jesus was the first to speak saying, "Melvin, my brother, I love you. Let us go this morning on Our Mother's day to visit her." I happily agreed and Jesus took me to her home. She greeted us saying, "Welcome Jesus and Melvin. Come in and let us spend a little time together. Jesus, My Son, you did not spare yourself for the salvation of the world. I love you. Melvin, my priest son, I bless you and I pray for you that you receive all the graces you need. Always remain close to Jesus, My Son. The Feast of the Presentation of Jesus is tomorrow. Joseph and I brought the Infant Jesus to the Temple to present Him to God the Father according to the custom of our people. Simeon uttered great prophecies on that day. He said 'This child is destined for the falling and the rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be opposed so that the inner thoughts of many will be revealed -- and a sword will pierce your own soul too.' On the eve of this great feast, I wish to assure you that my shrine will be built on the Island. This small island has been blessed and chosen by me and preserved from the evil of abortion. I have designated it as holy ground. I appeared to you five times as the Lady of Prince Edward Island. I request today that all the people of the Island and those beyond the Island build a shrine in my honour as I have made it known to my priest son, Melvin. May the Feast of the Presentation bring you, my sons and daughters, to the resolve to build this shrine as soon as possible. The Church of my Son will never refuse me this gift. In the meantime, Melvin, you will build a prayer room attached to your house. This was my request on the second anniversary of my first visit to you. I bless you all."
Tomorrow we remember the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple in Jerusalem. The Old Testament says that every firstborn male shall be designated as holy to the Lord. In order to fulfill all obligations, Joseph and the Blessed Virgin Mary brought the child Jesus to the Temple and presented Him to the Lord. Two holy people were there in the Temple. Their names are given as Simeon and Anna. Our Blessed Mother would never forget the words of Simeon which are: "a sword will pierce your own soul too." These words were literally fulfilled at the cross when the Mother of Jesus stood there in great suffering watching her Son die in such torments. Let us be united with Our Blessed Mother this evening and tomorrow during this feast.
She takes the occasion of this feast to show her love for Prince Edward Island, this Province of Canada that has been designated by her as holy ground because it has been preserved from the terrible scourge of abortion. She calls on all the people of the Island to rise up and build a shrine in her honour. She said that the Church of her Son will never refuse her this gift. In the meantime I want to build the prayer room she requested in December. Nothing can be done now but I hope when winter is over we will begin. I am filled with great joy knowing that one day, a fitting shrine will be built for Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. It will be a blessing to the Island and the whole world. Let us await this shrine with hope.

Theme: "BELONG TO A FAITH-FILLED GROUP"
Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
I spent my usual time with Jesus in prayer this morning. He spoke to me saying, "Melvin, my companion and friend, I love you. When I was on earth, I selected 12 men as my Apostles and companions. We went around the country (Israel) together. They saw everything I did and they were present at my teachings to various groups of people. Alone with them, I would explain what I had taught in parables so that they would have more understanding. They witnessed many miracles and their faith began to grow and St. Peter often expressed his faith and the faith of the group. This is my teaching today: it is important that you too belong to a group. Your faith will be stronger and you will be able to manifest it within the group. I urge you, my brothers and sisters, to belong to a genuine and faith-filled group especially for prayer and study. You will have the support you need from the others in days of difficulties and suffering and you will bring me to those who are in need of a friend. As you develop a closer relationship with me, you will become closer to each one in the group. You will not feel alone or lost but you will have the support of the group. May love and a spirit of forgiveness reign in the group. I love you."
The first small community in the Church was that of the Apostles with Jesus. They were together almost all the time. Their teacher was Jesus and He was the focal point of the group. All the members felt they belong to the group and there was a positive spirit among them. Every day they grew in their faith and knowledge of Jesus and the group was built up. They even tolerated one who later betrayed the Lord and hanged himself. Jesus calls us today to belong to a Christian group which gathers for prayer or study. I heard a Bishop say a few years ago that it is not enough just to go to church on Sunday. We will not be able to resist the pagan culture we live in and so one day we will find that we do not believe and we will stop going to church. We need to come together at least once during the week with a group to pray and to share our faith with them. It is within this group that we will grow in our love of the Lord and our faith will remain strong. Today we do need, as Jesus tells us this morning, the support of a faith-filled group. The Apostles needed to be in a group with Jesus, what about you and me?
May we all imitate what the Apostles did and belong to a Christian group with Jesus in our midst.

Greetings on this beautiful sunny day! I am praying for peace these days. I invite you all to pray that war may be avoided and Iraq may be disarmed without anyone being killed. I will go to the prayer meeting this evening at Palmer Road Church and I will pray for all of you.

Good morning on this dull cloudy day! We had a little snow overnight but there are signs that the sky is clearing. I hope the sun comes out later on. I went to the Manor yesterday and I spent time with my mother who is doing exceptionally well. She attended the Eucharistic celebration with many of the residents. Afterwards, I visited those who are bedridden in their rooms. In the evening I was at Tignish Parish Church for the prayer meeting. We formed a committee to prepare the celebration for March 25, the Feast of the Annunciation. On that day we will celebrate life and have the blessing of the mothers and the little children.

Greetings on this sunny Monday morning! I am rested after a full day yesterday. This afternoon I will celebrate the Holy Eucharist at the Manor and visit with my mother. She is doing very well these days. I'll be at the prayer meeting at Tignish this evening and I will speak to them about our celebration for life coming up on March 25. We hope to form a committee to plan this Pro-Life day in their parish.

Greetings on this new day given to us by the Lord! Yesterday I celebrated a funeral at Sacred Heart Church in Alberton and celebrated the Holy Eucharist at St. Bernadette's Church in Dock Road and back at Alberton in the evening for Mass at 7:00 P.M.. Then I was able to pay a visit to my mother as she was eating her lunch. This morning I have to be at St. Mark's, Lot 7, for 9:00 A.M. and this Church is over 20 km. away. Then I have to return to Alberton for the Eucharistic Celebration at 11:00 A.M. This evening I will be at Palmer Road Church where I will give a talk to the confirmation class to help them prepare for the sacrament of confession or reconciliation. At the end I will help the parish priest to give the youth this sacrament of mercy.

Greetings on this beautiful sunny day! We had very little snow last night just a dusting. The wind piled it up here and there especially at my door. Today I will have a funeral at 2:00 P.M. at Alberton followed by the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at St. Bernadette's, Dock Road at 4:30 and another at Alberton at 7:00 P.M. I hope after that busy afternoon and evening to go and see my mother for awhile around 8:00 PM.

Good morning on this calm and partly cloudy day! The strong wind of the last few days has died down but there is snow in the forecast. I went to see Michelle yesterday and I gave her the sacrament of the sick. She is in bed most of the time and needs oxygen 24 hours a day. Let us continue our novena for her. I also went to visit my mother at the Manor last evening. She is doing well and always in a good mood. This morning I have to return to Alberton for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 9:00 AM followed by a Holy Hour. I will be back at Alberton at the funeral home this afternoon for a prayer service with the family and friends of the three who died in the last few days. I will have the funeral of one of them tomorrow.

Good morning on this windy and partly cloudy day! There is ice everywhere. Driveways are like skating rinks and some of the roads are no better. I was at the prayer meeting last evening and a good number were present. They braved the slippery roads and the wind. We thanked the Lord for the great things He is doing in our midst.

Greetings on this windy morning! The sky is finally clearing and all the ice is off the wires and most of the trees. We did not get much freezing rain last night. Instead we got lots of rain. I went to Alberton twice yesterday: in the morning for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist with the people of the Philip's residence and in the evening to visit the sick at the hospital. The good news is that Maria Doucette who was in a very serious car accident will come home today. Your prayers have been answered.

Good morning on this beautiful day that is dawning! I passed a peaceful night without the cold of the night before now that the power has been restored. I am supposed to go to the Phillip's residence this morning for Mass at 10:00 with a good number of the residents. My book on Our Lady is finished and I hope to go to Tyne Valley tomorrow if the weather permits. I am also working for the Celebration of Life which we feast here in West Prince every year. It is celebrated on the Feast of the Annunciation, March 25. It will be celebrated at Tignish Church this year. We will pray that all human life be respected and that abortion be outlawed in our country and throughout the world. There will also be the blessing of pregnant mothers and small children. My friends, please put a notice on your calendar for that day and do not forget to join us in prayer for those intentions. In fact we can pray every day for these intentions.
You are Our Lady of Prince Edward Island,
Mother of Jesus, Our Saviour and Our Lord.
Mother and Protectrice of us all,
We thank You for choosing this Island
To be blessed with a Shrine in your honour.
Intercede before Your Son, dearest Mother,
That all Your children who are ill,
Especially Michelle Thibodeau, may find health,
That all may repent and obtain forgiveness for their sins,
That all may receive the fullness of grace,
And that all may be delivered from every evil.
From the scourge of abortion. Pray that the world will soon
Change to respect all life, especially the life of the unborn.
May Your great desire for a Shrine dedicated to You,
Our Lady of Prince Edward Island,
Become a reality in the near future.
And we await with hope Your home among us.
Bless us all, Your children, and pray to Your Son
That our faith may increase, and that one day we will be
United with Jesus, with You, Mary, and with all the angels and saints.
Amen.

Good afternoon! We had no power in this part of the Island from about 5:00 P.M. last night till 3:00 P.M. today. It was a good thing that it was not cold outside. Yesterday we had freezing rain and some power lines snapped from the weight of the ice. Thank God the power is restored and it is comfortable in the house now.

Good morning on the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple! It is an overcast day with freezing rain on the windows. I hope the roads are not too slippery for people to go to Church. I will soon leave for Miminegash for I have the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 9:00 A.M. Yesterday I attended the funeral of a friend who died of cancer at the age of 69. I went to school with her for a time.

Good morning! It is snowing and dark today as the snow falls gently to the ground. Today I want to go to the funeral of a woman who grew up next door to me. I hope there is not too much snow to get to church.

Greetings on this dull Friday morning! We might get some wet snow today as it is very mild. I went to the Pro-life meeting in Alberton last evening. We have decided again this year to celebrate The Day of the Unborn on March 25, the Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord and the day of His conception in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We are planning to have the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and the blessing of all pregnant mothers and small children after Holy Mass. Let us pray every day that life will be respected everywhere in the world and abortions will end. I am happy to know that the Moncton Hospital in New Brunswick is no longer performing abortions. I pray that the other institutions of that nature will do the same.
