MAY MY JOY BE IN YOU

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Greetings on this windy day! The sky is clearing and we are supposed to see the sun today. We had plenty of rain yesterday with the result that there is hardly any snow left on the ground. I was at the Manor yesterday for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist with the residents. My mother attempted walking from one end of the long building to the other. She is always joyful.

In my prayer this morning, I was with Jesus who spoke to me saying, "Melvin, I love you. After my resurrection, I appeared to many people. I appeared to Mary Magdalene, to the disciples on the way to Emmaeus, to Peter, to the other Apostles and many more. I showed myself on earth for forty days to strengthen the faith of my followers. I appeared many times to my Apostles to give them further teachings and to give them the power they needed to be leaders of my church. They needed strong faith to go and preach the Good News. It was also for you that I made these appearances so that you would believe in me because of these witnesses. Their witnessing is true for they saw me and spoke to me. The Apostles are all martyrs except John; they were killed because of their faith in me. Like the Apostles, place all your faith and trust in me. Accept me, your Risen Lord, in your life. I fill you with Easter hope at my resurrection. During this Octave of Easter, may my joy be in you for I give this joy to all my friends. I suffered greatly and died on the cross because I am your Saviour. It was for love of you that I embraced my cross. Now that I am risen from the dead, I live in you and shower you with my love. I bless you all."

The world today is a sad place to live in with the fighting and killings in the Middle East every day and the unrest in other parts. We need the Good News of the Resurrection of the Lord. Jesus fills us this morning with Easter joy, so greatly needed these days. May the darkness of pessimism give way to the bright sun of the Risen Lord. He wants to bring us to life in order to live as brothers and sisters who love each other as one big family. We are all children of God, so why all this division in the world? All the people crave for peace, peace in our own lives, in our homes and in our countries. The Risen Jesus greets us all with the words, "Peace be with you." He is the Prince of peace and if we turn to Him, He will give us peace and joy in our hearts. Let us read the Gospel accounts of His appearances and let these bring a warmth in our hearts. Let us put all our hope in Him.

I have to go for blood tests this morning. I have to be at the hospital around 8:30 fasting so they can check the level of sugar in my blood and check for other things as well.

May the Risen Lord fill you with His peace and love.

KEEP YOUR EYES FIXED ON JESUS

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Good morning! It is Easter Monday but cloudy and dark. It rained during the night and it will rain again today. Yesterday I took my mother out of the Manor for the afternoon. I brought her to her home for a short time, and then we went to my sister's for a lovely Easter meal. She enjoyed herself very much but by 7:00 PM she was ready to go back. I will be back at the Manor this afternoon for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist with the residents.

In my 30-minute prayer this morning Jesus took me to the throne of Our Heavenly Father. Jesus spoke to me saying, "Melvin, my brother, I love you. I am the Risen One who is with you today. Let us go and visit Our Father." I agreed, and Jesus took me to the throne of the Father. I knelt before Him in adoration. The Father greeted us saying, "Jesus and Melvin, welcome, and come and sit beside me. Jesus, My Son, the Risen Saviour, I greet you and I thank you for being the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Your eternal sacrifice is always before me. Melvin, redeemed by My Son Jesus, I love you for you are my son too. You are filled with Easter joy at the RESURRECTION of Jesus, your friend. I bless you and the whole world. You have been renewed in the Blood of your Saviour. Let Jesus' great sacrifice on the cross be the event to bring you all close to me. The division between me, your Creator, and you, my children, has been destroyed and a new relationship can now develop between us. Live your Easter faith with intensity and hope. Do not fear your Father, who loves you with all His heart, but love me in return. I love you as I love Jesus, my Son. Open your heart that I may fill it. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus; He is your light and your joy. I embrace you all."

What a wonderful plan the Father has for us all! He wants us to be united with Him in love and to walk together with Jesus in peace towards the Promised Land. We are one large family created by God to give Him glory. Let us believe in Jesus, as Our Redeemer, and let us accept the salvation which He brought us. It is in His Body the Church that we will grow and be built up during our time here on earth. Let us keep our eyes on Jesus for He is our leader who teaches us and shows us the way. If we follow the Risen Jesus, we will never get lost and we will be strong to resist every temptation to sin.

May the joy of Easter strengthen us to recommit ourselves to Jesus and help us to build a strong relationship with Him.

I BLESS YOU, ALLELUIA

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Happy Easter! The Lord is Risen, Alleluia!! The clouds are breaking up and the sun will soon be shining on this joyful day. I celebrated the Easter Vigil at Palmer Road Church last evening and the Church was full. We had one baptism of an adult and she was also confirmed.

In prayer Jesus spoke to me saying, "Melvin, I am risen, I embrace you. The great day of my resurrection has arrived. I have overcome every obstacle. I have come out of the tomb never to suffer or die again. I appeared to my Mother, to Mary Magdalene and to the Apostles. I am indeed the Son of God and your Saviour. Believe in me as your Redeemer and the Redeemer of the whole world. Only through faith and baptism can you belong to me and receive the graces I won for you. The world will never be the same now that I am risen. Great joy fills the world and the people are filled with hope. With me you can hope for a better world where love will reign and peace will become a reality if people turn to me. Awaken your faith in me, your Risen Lord. Commit your lives to me as my followers and friends. I will empower you with my love and strength to change your life and to change the world. See the light of your Lord shining bright today. Be filled with my light and walk with me. I have defeated the devil and you, too, can do the same. Do not fear the future for I am with you. Strive for holiness by imitating me and living as my close friend. I bless you, alleluia."

Great joy fills my heart today at the great news that the Lord is risen! I wish to sing alleluia all the time. Jesus proclaims today that He has overcome death and that He is alive. Let us announce His glorious resurrection to all. The Holy Feast of Easter always brings me back to Jerusalem and the tomb of the Lord. I stood there that Easter when I was in Jerusalem. The church was packed and the courtyard was also full of people. The Bishop came out of the tomb with candles blazing to announce to us all that Jesus is risen and the fire was passed from candle to candle until every candle was lit. I felt I was present at the first Easter when the women went to the tomb and found the stone rolled away. It was Mary Magdalene who saw the two angels inside the tomb. Then Jesus came to her and she recognized Him when He called her name. She reported to the Apostles that she had seen the Lord. What joy must have filled her heart at seeing the Risen Lord! Let us be filled with joy too for we believe with all our heart that He is risen and that He is Our Saviour. As I finish writing this, the sun pierced the clouds, and it is now shining. The sun, too, must come out and warm our hearts on this great Easter Sunday.

I will celebrate the Holy Eucharist on the day of the Resurrection of the Lord this morning at Palmer Road at 11:00 AM.

May the Risen Lord bring peace and joy to you all and fill you with His love.

LET US MOURN AT JESUS' TOMB

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Good morning on this dull Holy Saturday! The sky too seems to be in mourning and I think it will soon start to rain. Yesterday afternoon I was at Palmer Road for the liturgy of Good Friday. The Church was full of people. The reading of the Passion was very moving for me as I pictured in my mind the various events as they were being narrated. The people came silently to venerate the cross, and to receive Holy Communion. Beautiful hymns were sung throughout the service expressing the thoughts of many at this solemn hour. Today we are in mourning, kneeling and waiting at the tomb as it were.

In prayer this morning, I was with Our Blessed Mother who spoke to me saying, "Melvin, my son, I love you. I am your Mother and I am in great sorrow at the death of my Son, Jesus. Let us go to the tomb to mourn for Him. (We arrived at the tomb). I stood over there at the foot of the cross as He suffered terribly in His agony. My heart was breaking with pain to see my dear Son in such pain. It was like a sword piercing my heart. Jesus spoke to me before He died. He gave me to you all as your Mother. His words, "Woman, behold your son," I take as a call to form Jesus in you all. He has to live and grow in each one of you. This is why I have come so often to earth, Melvin, and I came to visit you too. I desire all my children to return to Jesus and to follow Him. He is your SAVIOUR. I also pray for you all, my children, every day that you will cooperate with the graces Jesus won for you. I firmly hope that one day we will be united in heaven. By His suffering and death, Jesus opened heaven for you all but you have to obey Him through the Church in order to enter. Today together with you I mourn His death. His lifeless body is lying in the tomb. Jesus, my Son, paid the price for your sins and He did it all out of love for each one of you. Let us express our love to Him as we mourn for Him today. I bless you all."

I was filled with sadness and so was Our Lady, as we were present in spirit at the tomb of Our Lord in Jerusalem. I often went inside His tomb during my three months there. Sometimes I spent up to one hour praying in that sacred place kneeling in front of the flat stone where Jesus' body was placed. I used to take my large crucifix (nearly two feet long) with me and I would lay it on the stone as a vivid reminder that His body laid there once. I keep this crucifix now in a prominent place in my house and I venerate it every day. It is most precious to me for it touched the stone on which rested the dead body of the Lord. It is also the stone on which the resurrection took place. Our Blessed Mother suffered much at the cross, when she held the lifeless body of Her Son, and at the tomb. What great love she has for Her Son. She calls us all to express our love to Jesus today as we await the resurrection. Holy Saturday seems to me as if everything stopped, everything is still for the whole world is in a time of waiting. Let us mourn the death of the Lord, but let us mourn in hope for great joy will fill us soon.

I will attend the Easter Vigil Mass at Palmer Road this evening and I will celebrate Easter at 11:00 in the morning again at Palmer Road.

I wish you all a holy and blessed Easter. May the Resurrection of the Lord fill you all with joy and peace. May your hearts be filled with thanksgiving for the great acts of Redemption wrought for us by Jesus, Our Lord and Our Saviour. Blessings from the Lord on you all.

DO YOU LOVE ME?

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,

Good morning! What a beautiful sunny day we have for Good Friday. There is not a cloud in the sky and we only have a light wind. There is just patches of snow here and there especially in the ditches and the woods. I celebrated the Mass of the Last Supper last evening. Afterwards, I spent time with Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.

This morning, I had an intense half hour of prayer with Jesus on the cross. He spoke saying, "Melvin, my friend, come to me here on the cross. They have nailed my hands and my feet and I hang here in great pain. I am shedding my blood for you, and for all my brothers and sisters. I am the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Come my friends and be crucified with me. Let the nails that penetrate my hands also penetrate yours. Let the nails in my feet also pierce yours. Carry forever the mark of my crucifixion. Then, you will be completely identified with me. Above all, die to your rebellious nature, your pride and your little faith. Lay at the foot of my cross your sins, your anger and hatred and your intellectual pride. Let my blood wash you clean of lust, of sins committed with your tongue, and of all sins of omission. Let my Passion and Death renew you and transform you. My people, come to the cross and meditate on my suffering and death which I willingly undergo for you today. I am in terrible agony for your salvation. I offer today the supreme sacrifice to the Father for you because I love you. Do you love me? Will you give me a place in your heart? I am dying for you."

I felt great emotions this morning in my prayer. I was there with Jesus as He gasped for air during the final moments of life on the cross. His love for us is so great. We were all present to Him in His Passion. In the words, "I thirst", He expressed the great longing of His heart. His thirst was for our love. No wonder He asked me and you all this question, "Do you love me?" How are we going to answer His question? Will it be just "ya ya", or will it come from the heart with great meaning. Let our "yes" be an embrace of the cross, and a desire to follow Him. Our complete surrender to Him will be the beginning of our transformation into Him. He wants us to firmly say "no" to our sinful tendencies and not be afraid to suffer with Him.

May His Passion and death be the healing of our hearts that we truly need.

LET ME LIVE IN YOUR HEART TODAY

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,

Good morning on this Holy Thursday! It is cloudy but mild with not much snow left on the ground. I was at the prayer meeting last evening. Many people attended although it was very foggy.

I was with Jesus during my prayer time this morning. He spoke saying, "Melvin, I gave my life for you because I love you. Come and join us at the table in the upper room for the Last Supper. I am here with all the Apostles for my last meal with them. I am about to institute the Holy Eucharist as my parting gift to you all. My dear friends, with this loaf of bread I consecrate and give you the Eucharist. Take and eat for this is my body which will be given up for you. Here is the cup filled with wine. I give thanks and praise to the Father. Take this all of you and drink from it: this is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlasting covenant. It will be shed for you and for all so that sins can be forgiven. Do this in memory of me. My body is now your food and my blood is your drink. I have made all the Apostles priests and you too, Melvin, are my priest according to the New Testament which is the New Covenant in my blood. Celebrate the Eucharist regularly and may my brothers and sisters come and receive my body and blood from your hands and from the hands of all my priests. I am truly present in the Eucharist, the great sacrament of my love. Through this sacrament you are united to me, your Saviour and your friend. Let me live in your heart today. I love you."

On Holy Thursday we celebrate three important events. It is the day of the washing of the feet by which Jesus teaches us the great sacrament of love: "Love one another as I have loved you." We are to serve each other as the Lord showed us by washing the feet of His Apostles. It is also the day that the Lord instituted the Holy Eucharist, the sacrament of His Body and Blood. This sacrament is a marvel by which Jesus remains with us although He has disappeared from our eyes. The living Jesus comes and lives in our hearts for He becomes our food. At the same time that He instituted the Blessed Eucharist, Jesus also instituted the priesthood of the New Testament. All the Apostles were made priests at the Last Supper. He gave them the power to change the bread and wine into His body and blood. So, Holy Thursday is the Feast of the Priest- hood. Let the whole Christian people thank the Lord for the gift of the priesthood. Let us also be aware that the priesthood is essential for the Church of Christ. Let us pray then for priests and for vocations to the priesthood.

I will celebrate the Mass of the Lord's Supper this evening at Palmer Road Church at 8:00 PM. I will wash the feet of some in imitation of what the Lord did. At the end there will be the procession of the Holy Eucharist to the altar of repose. Let us also remember this evening the words of the Lord in the Garden of Gethsemane, "Can you not watch with me one hour?" Let us spend time with the Lord this evening as He suffers the Agony.

May the Lord bless us all on this holy day, and give us a great appre- ciation of the gift of the Holy Eucharist.

BE RENEWED BY THE BLOOD OF YOUR REDEEMER

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,

Greetings on this Wednesday of Holy Week! We got more snow overnight and now freezing rain is falling. I hope it quickly changes to rain. It is also very windy. I was at Alberton Church last evening for private confessions and a good number came. We were four priests to administer this sacrament.

In my prayer this morning Jesus took me to visit our heavenly Father. Jesus began by saying, "Melvin, my friend, I love you. Let us go to visit Our Father in heaven." I consented with joy and Jesus brought me to the throne of the Father. I knelt in adoration. The Father spoke saying, "Jesus and Melvin, greetings and come and sit here near me. Jesus my Son, I welcome you with open arms as we contemplate your great work during Holy Week. Melvin, my son and Jesus' friend, I love you and I bless you. The whole Church is now in Holy Week, the solemn week in which you all contemplate anew the suffering and death of my Son, Jesus. It will end with His triumphant Resurrection. Relive my people, the horror and torture Jesus endured for you all. My heart was breaking to see how cruelly He was treated by these people He loved. They did not spare Him who was the Son of God and their Saviour. They made Him suffer every torment and at the end killed Him. It shows you, my people, the terrible evil that sin is. Can you still remain cold to Jesus who loves you so heroically and died a martyr for you? Do you not see that your sins are causing Him even more pain? Return in sorrow and tears to your Father and repent of all your sins. Become a friend of Jesus, so that He may take away your heart of stone, of anger and resentment, of lust and pride, and give you a heart like His, filled with love, peace and devotion. Be renewed by the blood of your Redeemer. I love you."

Today the Father expresses His sorrow at seeing His Son go through so much suffering at the hands of human beings. It shows what degree of cruelty we are capable of doing. Yet Jesus endured His Passion for us to make us members of His Kingdom. The Father's questions addressed to us come from His Heart. Jesus has done so much for us and can we still remain cold and continue to sin and cause Him more pain? Let Him take away our hearts of stone and replace them with one like His own, so we can love Him as Our Brother and Saviour.

May the Lord renew us all in His blood and may we remain always attached to Him.

I OPENED HEAVEN FOR YOU

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,

Greetings on this beautiful Holy Tuesday! The sun is shining bright and the wind has died down at last. The sky is so clear and blue. It makes me feel as if I am in Central Africa.

My prayer this morning was with the Lord in the desert. He spoke saying, "Melvin, I love you. There is only a few days left here in the desert. You are with me in this place again today. My death is approaching for the salvation of the world. It is for this that I came into the world that all may be redeemed if they believe in me. My coming was announced soon after Adam and Eve committed the first sin and vitiated what God the Father had created. This terrible sin brought death into the world. Adam and Eve sinned by following the temptation of Satan, so, he is the cause of death. Heaven was closed to all their descendants until a Saviour would come to pay the price for sin. Sin is the greatest tragedy the world has ever seen. It broke the bond between God and mankind and makes each sinner an enemy of God. Human beings cannot adequately atone for sins because the one they offended is so much greater than they are. Only one who is divine could pay that price. In my love for the salvation of all, I chose to come and suffer and die for you all. I became sin so you could be freed and be friends of God. By my suffering and death, I opened heaven for you all. I want you all with me for eternity. I love you."

Today so many people have lost the sense of sin. They do not see how terrible it is and how it offends God who is their Creator. Many talk about mistakes or faults as if those bad things were not sins. It also reflects on our little faith in God. Jesus, in His words today, speaks about the malice and seriousness of sin. He calls it a tragedy and the worst thing we could ever do. The first sin disrupted much of what God had created. It brought death and suffering into the world. It is the nature of sin to do that. If someone hits you in the face it will cause you suffering and perhaps the loss of an eye, which is a dying to a certain extend. The result of murder of course is death. Above all sin is a deliberate offense against God, who loves us and cares for us at every moment. Sin is always an act of pride in which we say, "God I will not serve you." If we could see like God does all the sins of the world, we would be filled with fear from this magnitude of evil. We would wonder why He keeps the world in being when so much evil exists in it. Let us start with each one of us by repenting for the evil we do and go to receive the sacrament of confession and private absolution to be free from this evil. Many who receive general absolution are not forgiven for they have not gone to private confession for their grievous sins since the last time they received general absolution. No wonder the Holy Father is insisting on private confession in the latest letter he wrote to priests for Holy Thursday 2002.

I will be in Alberton Parish this evening for private confessions and I pray that many will take advantage of this wonderful sacrament.

May the Lord give us an increase of faith to understand the seriousness of sin for it caused the death of our loving Saviour.

LET MY PASSION BECOME PART OF YOU

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,

Good morning on this sunny Holy Monday! There are many bare spots in the fields again as the warm sun melts away the snow. It is still windy and the small clouds chase each other at a fast speed. Yesterday I celebrated Palm Sunday at Miminegash Church in the morning and I was at St. Mark's Church in the evening for private confessions. Today I will go to the Manor for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 1:30 PM and to visit my mother.

Jesus spoke to me during my half hour of contemplative prayer this morning. He said, "Melvin, I love you. I am still in the desert in prayer to my Father and fasting. The time for my supreme sacrifice is fast approaching. In my love for you, I will undergo the suffering and death on the cross to bring you out of the kingdom of darkness into my kingdom of light. My blood will wash all your sins away. Melvin, I wish to live my passion in you again during this Holy Week. I call you all to come and unite yourselves to me and share my passion. I share with my close friends what I suffered to redeem you. You will experience in your soul to a certain degree the passion from the agony in the garden to my death on the cross, and it will end with the joy of the resurrection. Take time to contemplate me in my suffering every day this week. My dear brothers and sisters, I wish to bring you all to Calvary to join my Mother and the Apostle John as they stand beneath my cross. Come and be nailed with me to the cross for your sins and for those of the whole world. In this way you will have a taste of what I suffered for you. Let my passion become part of you. It will transform you. I bless you all."

I seem to be back in Jerusalem at the time I began the 30-day retreat. I feel drawn to the Passion of Our Lord as the book I wrote on that retreat explains. Jesus confirms it in the prayer today as He calls me to relive His Passion again. At the same time He calls all His friends to come close to Him and He will share His Passion with them. We should be aware that our sins caused Jesus so much suffering and this cruel death on the cross. We will realize how horrible sin is that Jesus had to suffer so much to make amends for them. Some people dismiss the Passion of Our Lord as something that happened 2,000 years ago as if it had no meaning for us today. For us in the world today, we should see that Jesus' suffering and death is actual and is vitally important today. His sacrifice is made present every time the sacrifice of the Mass is celebrated. This is true because Jesus' sacrifice is an eternal sacrifice. Let us join Jesus during this important week of the year as He lives for love for us His Passion and His death.

May the Lord give us all the grace to live in a spiritual way His Passion for the salvation of the world.

I TRULY AM THE MESSIAH

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,

Good morning! It was sunny a few moments ago but now the sky is covered again. The wind died down overnight which means that many slept well last night.

In prayer this morning, Jesus was with me and He spoke saying, "Melvin, my brother, I love you. Join me today as I enter triumphantly the city of Jerusalem. All the people have palm branches in their hands and they are waving them. They are also singing, 'Hosanna in the highest.' All the Apostles are here with me as I ride into town. Today the people welcome me as a king, yet in a few days they will be shouting 'crucify him.' I am very much aware that I am entering Jerusalem to die for all of you, to pay the price for your sins. As we begin Holy Week, taste what I felt during those days. Enter into the drama of your salvation. At the end it is a battle between the Son of God and Satan. On Good Friday, it seems as if Satan had won as I died on the cross and am buried. My triumph, though, comes on Easter Sunday with my glorious resurrection from the dead, never to die again. You, too, can defeat Satan in your life by uniting yourself to me. With me you will triumph for I have overcome the devil. By living my passion and death, you are living a personal part of your own life. You were present with me through it all. It was you I redeemed by my passion and death. I truly am the Messiah, the Saviour. I love you."

Today Jesus invites each one of us to join Him during this Holy Week as He lives His Passion, Death and Resurrection. He calls us to make it personal as we were in the mind of God when He suffered and died for us. Let us try and see what it means that Jesus died for me. See the worth of each human being in the eyes of the Lord that He should go to such length to redeem us. He knows that each human being is greater than the whole world. This teaches us that we too have to respect each person from the moment of conception till natural death. Let us thank the Lord often for being our Messiah, our Saviour, and for suffering so much for us. Without the cross we would still be in our sins and in darkness. We would not be able to go to heaven. Jesus changed all this for us.

I will be celebrating Palm Sunday and the Holy Eucharist at 9:00 AM. I must go now as time is short.

May the Lord give us the grace to unite ourselves with Him as He undergoes His Passion, Death and Resurrection for us.

JESUS WANTS TO LIVE IN YOUR HEART

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,

Good morning! The sun is shining but the wind is blowing hard. It howled all night and blew most of the snow into the woods. It cleaned my driveway of over a foot of snow, but not everybody is so happy. I managed to get to Church last evening with my sister and brother-in-law. I was there for the Way of the Cross and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

In prayer Jesus took me to visit His Mother as today is Saturday, her special day.

Jesus began by saying, "Melvin, I love you. You are my friend who is always with me. Let us go and visit Our Mother as today is dedicated to her." I gladly gave my consent and Jesus took me to her home. She greeted us saying, "Welcome Jesus and Melvin, I am so happy to see you both. Let us sit here in this room. Jesus, My Son, we are about to relive your Redeeming Passion, Death and Resurrection, the great mystery of our salvation. I thank you, Jesus, for being the Redeemer of us all. Melvin my priest son, I am your Mother and I love you with all my heart. We are about to begin Holy Week, these glorious days of Jesus' oblation for our Redemption. Let us all join Jesus on the way to His crucifixion. He suffered greatly for us all and died a cruel death to free all from their sins. My dear children, join me every day at the foot of the cross in my pain in union with my Son, Jesus. Offer your sufferings together with Jesus' for the conversion of all the people of the world. In Jesus' name, I will crush the head of Satan and destroy his power in the world. Through Jesus' sacrifice, the world will be renewed. Let us enthrone Him as our Saviour and Lord and let us worship God alone. Jesus wants to live in your hearts, my children. I bless you all."

At evening prayer this evening we begin Holy Week. Our Lady gives us some thoughts about the greatest week of the year. She calls us all to follow Jesus, as He makes His way to Calvary, the place of the crucifixion. She wants us to stand with her at the foot of the cross. It is there according to Simeon that a sword pierced her heart. Because of this experience she is known as the Queen of martyrs. She is calling us today to offer all our sufferings and sacrifices during Holy Week together with the supreme sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, for the conversion of all the people. May Satan be crushed by Our Lady and Her Son, Jesus, as it is predicted in Genesis and may the world be freed from the devil's grip. Let us open our heart to let Jesus come and live in us. May He renew us all in His blood.

May the Lord bless us and may we realize what a loving Saviour we have in Jesus.

LIVE NOW FOR ME

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,

Greetings on this dark and cloudy Friday! We got a lot of snow yesterday. There is a foot in my driveway and I cannot get out. I read the Pope's letter to priests for Holy Thursday which came out yesterday. It deals with the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The subject is well presented, and it explains reconciliation in the context of Jesus' meeting with Zacchaeus in Luke 19. The Pope gives a fresh explanation of this biblical text.

I spent the time of my contemplative prayer with Jesus on the cross. As I began Jesus spoke to me saying, "Melvin, my friend, come near to me as I hang on the cross. What pain I am suffering for you and all my brothers and sisters. I offer myself in sacrifice to my heavenly Father for you all. It is for this that I was born: to be the Saviour of all. Melvin, may my blood wash you clean and may it wash every person in the world. I want you all to be my friends, my close friends. My Mother and my Apostle, John, are standing at the foot of my cross. They are united to me in my suffering. Mother, behold your son. Son, behold your Mother. My Mother is now your Mother, Melvin, and the Mother of all who believe in me. Love her and have a strong devotion to her for she will care for you as she cared for me. If you honour her you will be honouring me for she is closely united to me since my Incarnation. I am calling you all from the cross today as I suffer in great pain: leave the darkness of sin behind and come to visit me as I die for you. Raise your head to me and confess your faith in me as your Lord and Messiah. Change your life around and live now for me. I give my life for you; will you give me yours? I love you."

The suffering of Jesus on the cross is always a present reality. He is hanging on that cross today, just as well as 2000 years ago. His suffering and pain have lost none of its meaning for today. He is in His agony now for us and He asks for a response. He is also suffering in all those who suffer and are murdered in the world every day. Can we be indifferent that the Son of God is calling us from the cross? Are we too busy and occupied with the things of this world that we cannot stop and realize what is happening? The greatest human drama is taking place when the God-man takes all our sins on Himself, and pays the price for them, so that we can now live as the beloved children of God. We can begin our walk with God right here in the world and complete it in heaven.

He knows we need Him for alone we cannot defeat the devil. Jesus is our lifeline and with Him we can live a much fuller life. Let us make our act of faith in Him as He hangs there on the cross for you and me. Let us begin to live our new life and form this new society and civilization with Jesus in our midst. We have, too, a wonderful mother in the Blessed Virgin Mary. She was given to us by Jesus Himself to be our Mother. Let us pray her favourite prayer, the rosary, every day. Let us pray that all her requests, especially her desire to have a shrine in Prince Edward Island, may become a reality soon.

May Jesus, Our Redeemer, enkindle our hearts with love for Him and give us the grace to live a full life with Him.

Pray for Bishops and Priests

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,

Greetings on this wintry morning! It is snowing and blowing hard today, the first full day of Spring. I celebrated the Holy Eucharist at Palmer Road Church yesterday morning at 10:00. In the afternoon I had the visit of four people from northern New Brunswick who managed to find where I live. In the evening I was at the prayer meeting at Palmer Road with a good number of people present.

In my time with the Lord this morning Jesus spoke to me saying, "Melvin, my friend and my brother, I love you. I bring you again today to the Judean Desert, where the Spirit led me after my baptism in the Jordan River. I knew I would select 12 men to be my Apostles, and on them I would found my Church. I instructed them for about three years and gave them power to be priests and bishops in my Church. I sent them out into the world to preach everything I had taught them and to baptize all who believed. All the Apostles were faithful to me except one, Judas, who betrayed me. Peter, I appointed head of the Apostles, and upon him I built my Church. I promised that the Church would never fail although the evil one would try to destroy it. The Church will be attacked from outside and from within but she will remain till the end of time. Most bishops and priests are faithful to me, and live their celibacy in an exemplary manner. However, Melvin, today serious scandals have hit the Church. Some priests, even bishops, are causing me great suffering because of terrible sexual abuses and the abandonment of celibacy. May they return to prayer and I will give them the grace to live a celibate life. Pray every day, my dear people, for the bishops and priests that they may be faithful to me. Let them be examples of holiness to their people. I bless you all."

Today Jesus speaks about the Church which He founded on the Apostles. He is the head of the Church and she will never be destroyed. However, the devil is working overtime, to discredit her in the eyes of the people. Some priests and bishops have allowed him to take over their lives and to cause great scandal in the church. This is a very painful time for the Church in some parts of the world especially in the USA now. Jesus refers to the terrible act of betrayal of Judas during the beginning of His Passion. We also know that Peter denied Jesus three times during the time of the Passion. This year during the Lenten season many Catholics were disturbed by the scandals coming from Boston and other places.

Jesus is calling us today, to pray for our bishops and priests that they receive the grace to be faithful to their promises. There is too much division in the church these days. There are groups calling for a married clergy, others for women priests, still others to have homosexual couples blessed in the church, etc. This causes doubts and a loss of faith for many people and priests. Prayer has been abandoned by so many priests and faithful for the pursuit of the "social issues." A woman who is a Diocesan leader, once told me that what is important for the church today is to fight on behalf of the poor, to help our neighbour, and not this me and God business. My prayer, she told me, is to work for the poor. With this mentality no wonder that so many have abandoned God, and follow their own agenda in their own selfish way. Jesus' command is not one sided. He wants us to love God and our neighbour. Mother Theresa of Calcutta should be our example. She used to spend hours on her knees in prayer every day. I believe if we don't pray every day, we cannot do any good, even if we run a charitable organization. Let us return to prayer, to be transformed by the Lord as His true instruments to bring about the Kingdom in our lives.

May the Lord bring us all to a close and intimate relationship with Him.

LET US BE PARTNERS

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends, Good morning! The Lord is good to give us so many beautiful days. Again today, the sun is shining bright with no clouds in the sky. There is hardly any wind either this morning. We had our small Christian Community meeting last night. It was the last one for a while.

During my prayer time this morning, I was with Jesus who spoke to me saying, "Melvin, my brother, I love you. I am Jesus who is always with you, and again today you join me in the desert where I spent 40 days fasting. Come and let the silence fill you and live in harmony with me and with nature. Allow me to bathe you in my love and let me penetrate every part of you. I call all my brothers and sisters to allow me to penetrate to the depth of their hearts with my love. I want to remove all fear and resentment, all resistance and every blockage to my divine love. Be completely opened to my grace and my gifts. I give you New Life won for you on the cross. I share my own life with you. I draw you into my heart, to unite you to me forever. Accept your cross and carry it behind me with my help. Give me your weakness and I will fill you with my strength. Join me in prayer every day and you will advance in the spiritual life. The more time you spend with me the closer will be our relationship. We will be united as one and you will bring me to all the people you meet. I will touch their hearts and minds through you. Let us be partners in changing the world. I love you."

Jesus opens His Heart to us this morning and expresses His great love for us. Yet because of past experiences we are often fearful to come too close to Him. We put up roadblocks and refuse Him entry. How important it is then to spend time in His presence and let Him soak us with His love. It is only this experience of love that will melt away the fear and resentment we have. He will help us to remove the blockages that prevent us to live in union with Him. We need the New Life He is ready to give us. Only prayer will help us to advance in the spiritual life. We have to make time for Him in our busy life. He wants to transform us so that we can bring Him to others. We cannot give what we do not have. He calls us to be partners with Him in making our home, our community and our workplace filled with His presence and His love.

I will soon go to Palmer Church for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist this morning and this afternoon I will receive a group of people from New Brunswick. I will attend the prayer meeting this evening at the Church.

May the Lord give us the grace to open our hearts to Him and fill us with His love.

Father Melvin
