Pray, pray with all your heart

Dear Paul and Rita,
Greetings on this beautiful day dedicated to Our Blessed Mother! I received many phone calls yesterday from P.E.I., Nova Scotia, and even from Alberta and all were asking for prayers. I also had the visit of a young couple who came to ask prayers for their child only 18 months old. Every day I bring all these people who suffer in various ways to the Lord through the intercession of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island and I ask Him to touch them and make them well. We can all pray as Our Mother calls us to do this morning.

In prayer I was with Jesus and Mary. Jesus began by saying, "Melvin, I love you. I wait for you visit with me every morning. Our Mother is here with me and she wants to talk to you." Our Lady then began to speak saying, "Melvin, my son, I love you with all my heart. I was with you Sunday afternoon as you gathered with the people in Miscouche for prayers. Jesus, too, was there. That afternoon you honoured me greatly and I know I have many children who care for their mother. I touched many that day with the graces I received for them from my Son, Jesus. This was a good beginning but more will come. Jesus and I are actively engaged in the battle against evil and Satan will not win. Jesus will conquer and my Immaculate Heart will triumph. Unite in prayer with me, your mother, at the foot of the cross of your Saviour. Pray, pray with all your heart that Jesus be enthroned in the hearts of all people and that the darkness of sin be driven away. For my plans to succeed in your part of the world, I need the shrine to be built soon in Prince Edward Island. Pray your rosary every day for this intention. I love you and I bless you."

This morning Our Lady referred to the battle going on in the world for the hearts of all men and women. It is the battle between good and evil. She gives us hope for she says that Jesus will conquer and her Immaculate Heart will triumph. For this to happen she needs the cooperation of all her children. That is why she wants each one of us to unite with her at the foot of Jesus' cross for it was on the cross that He redeemed the world. Let us pray together with Our Lady that all will open their hearts to Jesus to receive the redemption He won for us all. Our Dear Mother calls again for the shrine on the Island and she asks all her sons and daughters to pray for this every day.

I am preparing every day for my trip to Connecticut. All my talks are ready but there are still a few others things to prepare such as my talk on Monday night in a parish there. I am looking forward to see my cousins and their families in Bridgeport and in other places too. I expect to spend a night in Rumford, Maine. May Jesus and His Blessed Mother and Our Mother bless you and give you peace and joy.

Father Melvin.

Subject: I am waiting for you.
Date: Fri, 27 Jul 2001 09:24:34 -0700

Dear Paul and Rita,

Good morning on this sunny Friday. Yesterday we celebrated the feast of St. Joachim and St. Anne, Our Blessed Mother's parents and the grandparents of Jesus, Our Lord. Many people attended the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at the Church in Palmer Road. It is a custom in our church to have a novena to St. Anne for the nine days preceding her feast.

In prayer this morning I was present at the crucifixion of Our Lord and He spoke to me from the cross saying, "Melvin, I am dying out of love for you and all my brothers and sisters. I am hanging on the cross in great pain to save you all. Come and contemplate my face bloodied by my many wounds. You are the only one who can soothe my pain and quench my thirst. Every person who returns to me is like oil poured over my wounds and it lessens the pain. Come to me and I will give you life. Open your heart and listen to me your Saviour. Believe in me and join your life to mine in a bond of everlasting love. I lay down my life for you, may you give me your life. Give me all your pain and sorrow and I will refresh you. I am waiting for you to come to the foot of my cross to be washed clean in my blood. The shedding of my blood is the price I paid to redeem you. Accept me today with all your heart and let us walk together in this new life. I bless you from the cross."

I was present today at the cross of Jesus as He hung there covered in blood and in great suffering and pain. His greatest suffering was not from His physical wounds but from the wounds in His heart caused by the sins and indifference of so many people. His greatest desire is to save everyone but He knows that many will reject Him. It is love that drove Him to suffer and die for us and He awaits our response. Look at Jesus today hanging on the cross and listen to His request: "I am waiting for you." He is waiting for us to approach Him, to spend time with Him, and to turn our lives completely over to Him. The world has become so cold toward Jesus. Even those who call themselves Christians are far from Him, and live as though He did not matter to them. He is in agony again for the salvation of the world. Let all His friends remain attach to Him and offer reparation to His wounded heart for all the atrocities committed against Him. Let us spend time with Jesus today and offer Him our love.

I am preparing for my trip to Connecticut. I will leave with two dear friends of mine on July 31st and come back on the 8th or 9th August. I've been asked to give a weekend on contemplative prayer at My Father's House in Moodus, Ct. and at the same time I will visit my cousins who live in Stratford, Ct. Please pray for a safe trip. May Jesus fill you with His love, and may Our Blessed Mother bring you close to her Son.

Father Melvin.

Subject: Honour my grandparents
Date: Thu, 26 Jul 2001 08:31:45 -0700

Dear Paul and Rita,
Greetings on this cool morning on the feast of St. Joachim and St. Anne. The cool nights are great for sleeping. I celebrated the Holy Eucharist last evening with the members of the prayer group. Many people are gone on holidays but we still managed to have over 30 people present.

At prayer this morning, Jesus spoke about His grandparents. He began by saying, "Melvin, my friend, I love you. Today is the feast of my grandparents, Joachim and Anne. What a great example of faith and hope they gave. They had to wait a long time before their child was born but at the end they were blessed with the most beautiful child every born, Mary, my Mother. Honour my grandparents for they are holy. I call on all the couples to live in close union with my Father as Joachim and Anne did. Let them imitate their childlike faith. Let all couples be opened to have children, as my grandparents were. Let them welcome children and nurture them. The greatest gift which any couple can receive is a child made in my image and likeness. Be filled with joy at the birth of a child as my grandparents were at the birth of my Mother, who would be called the Mother of God. As my brother or sister come and join my family as we celebrate today in honour of Joachim and Anne, my grandparents whom I love with all my heart. I bless you."

In prayer this morning I was brought back to St. Anne's in Jerusalem where I stayed for three months in the past. The Church of St. Anne in Jerusalem is built according to tradition over the home of Joachim and Anne, and it is the place where Mary, our Mother, was born. I spent many hours in this church praying and meditating on what happened there.

This evening I will celebrate the Holy Eucharist at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, in honour of Jesus' grandparents. We will also have a procession at the end of the celebration.

May Jesus and Our Lady bless you all on the feast of St. Joachim and St. Anne.

Father Melvin.

Subject: To Jerusalem
Date: Wed, 25 Jul 2001 09:12:12 -0700

Dear Paul and Rita,

Good morning to you and all! It was warm and humid yesterday afternoon and evening, but it got cooler during the night. I went to Summerside in the morning and I saw Amanda and Ceofred Richard. I ordered many 8 by 10 pictures of the painting of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. They should be ready by tomorrow. In the evening I concelebrated at the healing Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road. Many people attended.

This morning in prayer Jesus spoke to me saying, "Melvin, I greet you my brother; I love you. Let us go to Jerusalem, to the Cenacle where I ate the Last Supper with my disciples. It was on Holy Thursday that I instituted the Holy Eucharist by changing the bread and wine into my Body and Blood. I bring you here because today is the feast of St. James, one of the 12 Apostles. He was present on that day before I died when I made the 12 priests, and they ate my Body and drank my Blood. I built my Church on these twelve Apostles. James, whom we remember today, became the first Bishop of Jerusalem and died there a martyr. May your faith and the faith of all the Christians be rooted in the faith of the Apostles. The Church continues in that same faith handed down from these first witnesses. The Last Supper also continues in the Church every time there is the celebration of the Holy Eucharist by a priest whose priesthood comes down from the Apostles and the commandment of love is put into practice. Read my friends the account given in the Bible on that First Holy Thursday. What happened on that day is very important for you and for the Church. I bless you."

The upper room in Jerusalem where Jesus gathered with His Apostles on Holy Thursday was very vivid during my prayer this morning. I had visited the place a few times while I was in Jerusalem. I had the joy of celebrating the Holy Eucharist just next door in the chapel. When Pope John Paul visited Israel last year, the owners of this building gave it to the Holy Father. It is now in the hands of the Church. It is there that the first priests of the New Testament were "ordained" by Jesus. St. James was one of these priests. He was also a Bishop who suffered much and died a martyr. Let us pray today to St. James that he intercede for us so that our faith may be strong and rooted in his faith. Let us never be afraid to witness to Jesus by word and action.

May Jesus strengthen our faith on the feast of St. James, and may Our Blessed Mother, Queen of Apostles, win for us all the graces we need.
Father Melvin.

Subject: Abide in my love.
Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2001 20:03:54 -0700

Dear Paul and Rita,

Greetings and best wishes to you and all. I am writing to you with my new Compaq computer which I received as a gift this weekend. I say thank you for this wonderful gift. I will have to get use to it but I can assure you it works much better than my ancient one. I was at the Manor yesterday for the Celebration of the Holy Eucharist with many of the residents. We had music and singing which is highly appreciated by all those who attend.

In prayer this morning I was with Jesus, Our Lord, who spoke to me saying, "I am Jesus, your friend, I love you. Trust in me for I am your Saviour. Melvin, so few have confidence in me. They prefer to rely on themselves instead of me. My dear brothers and sisters, I love you with all my heart as I made known to you through my passion and death on the cross. I want only what is best for you for I care for you. I can empower you through the Holy Spirit to avoid sin and do good. You will climb my mountain and I will come and dine with you. All this is possible if you trust in me. Open your heart to me every day and I will live in you. Let all your sufferings be meritorious by joining them to mine for your salvation and the salvation of the whole world. Abide in my love. I bless you."

How difficult it is to trust in Jesus. We say we trust in Him but how often we doubt and place trust in ourselves. We want to be in charge because of our pride. We think we can do a better job. Yet on our own we cannot succeed. Let us live each day in the grace of God by letting Jesus guide us. We have to learn to be obedient again. Let us come to know Jesus better by spending time with Him in prayer every day.

I will go to Summerside this morning hoping to order more pictures of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. The 100 pictures I received last week went like hot cakes at Miscouche on Sunday. I know many more would like to have a copy of this beautiful painting. This evening I will join our Parish Priest for a healing Mass at Palmer Road. There is usually a healing Mass during the novena to St. Anne, so loved by all the Catholics here.

May Jesus strengthen you in your faith and trust in Him.

Dear Paul and Rita,
Good morning on this wet day! On my way back to Palmer Road from Miscouche, it started to rain when I was at Bloomfield about halfway home. After I arrived home it poured and again this morning it is raining. The farmers around here are surely happy. I celebrated the Holy Eucha- rist last evening at 8:00 at the home of a very special friend of mine where 60 people had gathered to pray for a loved one who died exactly one year ago. I had promised them that I would join them in the evening.

Jesus was there this morning as I began to pray. He spoke saying, "Melvin, I bless you, I love you. Yesterday, many people responded to the call of Our Mother. They came to Miscouche from all parts of the Island to listen to my Word and pray to her. Others came from beyond the Island and they were called too. The two Gospel texts proclaimed, namely the Annunciation and my giving on the Cross my mother to be your mother, were well received. The "behold, your Mother" of the second text was the high point of the after- noon. All stood to accept her and to express their love for her. The praying of the rosary was a powerful prayer that rejoiced the heart of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. May you all pray the rosary every day in honour of your Mother and mine. I bless you all."

I am very happy with the afternoon of prayer. About 800 people turned up. They were not afraid of the sun or the heat to spend time with Jesus and Our Blessed Mother. The choir sang very well the many beautiful hymns to Jesus and Our Lady. I prayed that the Lord would bless our church, especially her leaders, the Pope, our Bishop and all the Bishops of the world and the priests. A lady from Charlottetown gave a witness about her cure from cancer. She had called me to pray with her to the Lord through the intercession of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. I went there in February 2001. The doctor had told her in January that she had only 3 months to live. She should have died in April. She went to see her doctor last week and they could not find any trace of that cancer. She is now healthy, eats well and has plenty of energy. Today, I will go to the manor in Alberton for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

May Jesus and Mary bless you with peace.

Dear Paul and Rita,

Greetings and best wishes on this holy day of the Lord! It is cloudy this morning with a fine wind and not so hot as yesterday. I pray that it holds good for this afternoon. I celebrated the Holy Eucharist at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, last evening. After the celebration I went to the manor to anoint a very sick resident and I visited with my mother. She was so happy to see me and as usual she did not want me to go when the time came. She is so special.

At prayer this morning I was with Jesus who spoke to me saying, "Melvin, my brother and my friend, I love you. I embrace you this morning on this special day. I smile upon you today, Melvin. I'm smiling upon Prince Edward Island. Our Mother is joyful today. Many will answer her call and be present at the prayer this afternoon. Many more are united with you in prayer. My word today to all my friends is this: Be centered on me all the time. Let me guide you in the right path. Be humble with your eyes upon me. Know that the strength you have to do good comes from me. Live your life in close union with me and pray daily that my will be done in you and in every person in the world. Pray, pray my friends, for a new Pentecost to come over the world. May the gathering today be a small beginning of this anointing of the Holy Spirit through the intercession of Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. I love you all and I bless you."

My heart is filled with joy at the words of Jesus. He blesses us all during this day of Mary's Afternoon of Prayer. We will adore God and ask Our Blessed Mother to pray for us. We will read the account of the Annunciation in Luke and the account of Jesus giving Mary to be our Mother in John 19, 25 - 27. We will meditate on these two wonderful texts which spell out Our Lady's great role as Mother of Jesus and Our Mother. We will pray the rosary, her favourite prayer. Through her powerful intercession, may the Heavenly Father bless us, may Jesus send His graces upon us all and may the Holy Spirit anoint us as children of God. I hope all those who will come this afternoon will not forget to bring a chair, some water to drink and a hat. May Jesus, Our Lord and Saviour, give you His joy and peace, and may Our Mother Mary protect you all and keep you in her heart.

Dear Paul and Rita,

Good morning on this day of Our Lady. I am a bit late in sending you this message as I had a visitor today. I was so happy to see him and you know when we talk time just flies.

I was with Jesus and Mary, Our Mother, in prayer this morning. Jesus began by saying, "Melvin, I love you. Today is Saturday, so let us go and visit Our Mother." I agreed wholeheartedly. Jesus took me to her home and she brought us to a room where we sat together. She spoke to us saying, "Jesus, Melvin, you like to come to visit me on my day, Saturday. I welcome you both with all my heart. Jesus, my Son, I love you, you are the joy of your mother." Jesus replied, "I love you too, Mother." Our Blessed mother continued, "Melvin, my priest son and Jesus' friend, I bless you. You are my instrument to make known to all my desire. Speak to them of what I told you. I call you all dear children to come and listen to your mother. Return to Jesus, your Saviour and your Lord, before it is too late. Repent of all your sins and change your life around. Love the Church and go and pray every Sunday. I call all the Bishops and Priests to be faithful to Jesus and to live blameless lives. May they preserve the unity of the Church always. I want the Orthodox, the Protestants to work together with the Catholics for complete unity for this is Jesus' prayer. I express again today my great desire to have a shrine built in my honour in Prince Edward Island. I will be with you tomorrow as you come to honour me and ask for my prayer. I am the Lady of Prince Edward Island. I love you all, my children."

What a special joy filled my heart this morning in prayer! A great peace came upon me as I was with Jesus, Our Lord, and Mary, Our Mother. Her call to us is constant. She wants us to repent of our sins and return to Jesus, her Son. This is the main purpose of our prayer tomorrow. Let us open our hearts to her message and come closer to Jesus. I will celebrate the Holy Eucharist this evening in French at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road. Like Mary in the Gospel passage this weekend, let us make time for Jesus so we can listen to Him for He has the Word of Life.

May Jesus and Our Lady bless you all.
Father Melvin.

Subject: I am reliving my agony in you.
Date: Fri, 20 Jul 2001 09:17:10 -0300

Dear Paul and Rita,

Good morning on this sunny Friday! The weatherman says that we should have a comfortable sunny day for Sunday. The Afternoon of Prayer is only two days away and so let us continue our prayers for the success of that day. I celebrated the funeral liturgy yesterday afternoon for Jane Bernard. Then I had the visit of three ladies who came to express their desire that a shrine be built on the Island according to the desire of Our Lady.

In my prayer this morning, I was with Jesus who spoke to me saying, "Melvin, I love you. Come and join me here. We are in the Garden of Gethsemane, and my heart is sorrowful. Come near to me and keep me company as I suffer my agony. Experience with me the anguish that fills my heart. My whole body shutters at the suffering in store for me. 'Father, take this cup away from me. However, not my will but thine be done.' Melvin, I am living my passion. I am suffering all this for you and all my friends. Join me and live my agony in your heart. Show me your love by uniting yourselves to me and begin walking along the way I will show you. I am reliving my agony in you for the salvation of the world. I call you, my friends, to come and join me today in the Garden of Gethsemane. Read the passages on my agony in the Gospels. Allow me to show you my love by reliving my agony in your heart for your salvation and the salvation of all. I am suffering for you for I love you."

Great sadness filled my heart as Jesus made His agony present to me. I was with Him as He knelt there shuttering and sweating blood. I heard Him when He asked His Father to let the cup pass Him by, but He quickly added "not my will but thine be done." His love for His Father is so great and He will follow Him until death. Jesus calls us to be with Him and to relive with Him the terrible pain of the agony. Let us spend time with Him today, Friday, when we remember that He died on the cross on a Friday. Our Lady's Afternoon of Prayer is very near. Let us continue to pray for good weather and a special blessing from her. We will honour her under her new title: Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. We will offer all those present to her as her children. I pray that our devotion to her will increase and that we will pray the rosary every day. May Jesus, Our Saviour, bless you, and may Our Blessed Mother protect you. Father Melvin.

Subject: Cooperate with me.
Date: Thu, 19 Jul 2001 09:07:30 -0300

Dear Paul and Rita,
Dear Marie,

Greetings and best wishes on this lovely Thursday morning! What a lovely day we had yesterday. Here in the western end of the Island we were in the sun all day. I had my little car inspected for another year yesterday but I had to buy two new tires. It is over 10 years old and getting a bit worn out.

I also attended the wake for Jane Bernard whom I've known most of my life. We prayed that the Lord welcome her home in heaven. I've been asked to celebrate her funeral Mass this afternoon.

I spent a very peace filled half hour with Jesus this morning. He spoke to me saying, "Melvin, I love you. I am your brother, Jesus, who suffered and died for you and rose again. I am the resurrected one who is your redeemer. I abide in you and you abide in me. Put your trust in me and do not worry for I am in charge. Unite your will with mine and I will show you the way, for I am the way the truth and the life. I call you all, my brothers and sisters, to put your trust in me. Do not rely on yourself but on me, your Saviour. Listen to my voice in your heart as I lead you along the path of life. Today can bring you close to me or away from me. I am giving you all the graces you need, cooperate with me. May the bond between us be strong to over- come all evil and to walk in the truth. I bless you all."

Do we have confidence in God? Do you trust God when things are not going well? Yes, Jesus wants us to trust Him at all times. We cannot do anything good on our own. It is with the Lord that we can accomplish much. We never know where the Lord will lead us but we should follow Him. Most often we are asked to follow Him in the little things of our lives. We can make them special by doing them with love. What a difference it makes if we suffer together with Jesus. He is our greatest friend and He will never leave us.

Yesterday I received $78.00 to help children in Africa. This money was given to me by a wonderful Catholic woman who holds a Bible course with young children in our parish which lasts about a week every summer. The children gave this money to help African children who are suffering in any way. What a wonderful gesture of love by these children here to help those less fortunate. I was asked to join the group one evening and bless the rosaries that each one received. There were about 70 children present that evening.

May Jesus and His Blessed Mother grant you love, peace and joy. Father Melvin.

Subject: Come and learn from me.
Date: Wed, 18 Jul 2001 09:23:29 -0300

Dear Paul and Rita,

Greetings in the Lord! Here in Palmer Road it is sunny this morning again. There were some clouds earlier on but they are fast disappearing. I was in Summerside yesterday and I visited some friends. I walked along Water Street, the main street, which was cut off from traffic and turned into a shopping mall. I bought a few needed articles.

This morning I was with Jesus in a deep experience of prayer. He began by saying, "Melvin, I embrace you, you are mine. Come and rest with me here in the mountains. I am happy that you take time every day to be with me. Our relationship will help you grow closer to me and to live in me. Many people know of me but their hearts are far from me. It is only when they open their hearts to me that I will become alive to them and they will be transformed. I've had enough of prayers of the lips which are just a waste of time; I want the prayer of the heart. I ask you all to use fewer words but may these come from the heart. The prayer of the heart is genuine prayer and binds us together. I used to spend the whole night in prayer, in deep prayer from the heart, with my Father. Come and learn from me. I bless you, Melvin, I bless your family and all my friends."

What better teacher can we have to teach us about prayer than Jesus. We have to go to His school and the book to use is the Gospels. We should read these accounts of Jesus often and we will come to know Him and be filled with His Spirit. We are all called to be His brothers and sisters closely united to Him in love and service. Genuine prayer is important for our relationship with Him. Let us be ready to "waste" time with Him especially through contemplative prayer which is a prayer so loved by Jesus.

Before closing this letter I ask you to pray for Jane Bernard, my brother- in-law's mother who died yesterday. Please pray for the whole family during this time of mourning. May the Lord and His Blessed Mother be close to you today. May they answer all your prayers and give you peace.

Father Melvin

Dear Paul and Rita,

Good morning on another sunny day! I thank the Lord for this great summer we are having. Yesterday I was at the Manor for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and many attended in the chapel. My mother never misses every Monday. She prays very much.

In the evening I was at Tignish Parish for the last day of the seminar in the Life of the Spirit. A Grandmother shared with us how her life was transformed after her first seminar over 20 years ago. She faithfully attends the weekly prayer meetings with her husband. She still has to face problems but now Jesus helps her to deal with them.

In my morning prayer, I was with Jesus who spoke to me saying, "Melvin, my brother, I am Jesus and I love you very much. My message to you and to all my friends is this:

You have to be in the world but do not be of the world. You have to live in the world created for you. Enjoy the trees, the flowers, the sunsets, the hills and the valleys, the snow and the ice in the winter, the streams and the oceans. All these I've given to you. However, be mindful of the mentality of the world which is often in opposition to me. Many of the so-called values promoted by the world are opposed to me. Some of them are greed for money that often leads to corruption, the desire for pleasure, selfishness and pride, and boasting of the lack of faith. The world wants to destroy all belief in me. The world's culture is a culture of death. It promotes abortion, the killing of the unborn, and euthanasia, the killing of the elderly. The world even gives a hand of applause to those who kill the handicap person.

Dear friends, I am the Lord of life and all those who promote life from conception to natural death are my brothers and sisters. Come follow me and be filled with the Holy Spirit. I love you all."

Jesus' great message today brings joy to my heart. He is on the side of life for He is the author of life. We have no right to interfere with life for it is God's. It is our duty to protect life at every step. This is why the Church today is against capital punishment for she believes that no one has the right, not even the State, to take the life of another person. How important it is for us Christians to be pro-life for Jesus is the first pro-life member.

Let us make reparation to God for the terrible crime of the killing of millions of unborn and innocent children and of the murder of the elderly and the handicap.

Concerning the Afternoon of Prayer at Miscouche, I wish to inform everybody that there will not be Mass but readings from the Bible, prayers and the rosary that afternoon. It will take place outside so those who plan to come, do not forget a chair, a hat and some water to drink. We will pray for all people whether they live in Prince Edward Island, other Provinces of Canada or other countries. We will remember the sick, the elderly and the unborn. Our Mother Mary loves them all. I will be in Summerside today for some errands and to visit a few people.

May Jesus fill you with His love.

Father Melvin.

Dear Paul and Rita,

Good morning on another sunny day in Prince Edward Island. Yesterday was a super day which I began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at Miminegash Church. Jesus' parable of the Good Samaritan of yesterday's Gospel has much to teach us about loving our neighbour especially those who suffer in any way. In the evening I went to visit my mother who was not too bad. I took her out for an ice-cream which she enjoys very much. I'll be at the manor again today to visit her and to celebrate the Holy Eucharist in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel with many of the residents.

In prayer this morning, I was with Jesus who began by saying, "Melvin, I love you. Today is the Feast of Our Mother, so let us go to visit her." Jesus brought me to the home of Our Heavenly Mother. We sat together and she began by saying, "Jesus and Melvin, what joy fills my heart at your visit. You come to visit me on my feastday. Today the Church celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. I bless all those who celebrate this feast. It is especially associated with my scapular and I will protect all those who wear this sign of mine. I also wish to speak to you about the rosary. It is a prayer to honour me and to meditate on the mysteries which are so dear to all believers. These mysteries of the faith refer to the great events in the life of Jesus, my Son, and my own life. The rosary is the prayer very dear to my heart. I call you all to pray the rosary every day with all your heart. The rosary is a powerful prayer if it is prayed focused on the mysteries and your heart and mind lifted up to God. It is the weapon against the evil one who wants to devour the Church and all the people of God. Pray the rosary every day and I will protect you. I bless you all my children." Jesus and I thanked Our Lady for her words. She embraced us and we left.

What joy filled my heart after this visit to Our Lady. She is Our Mother who always cares for us. How often has She appeared holding the rosary in her hands? This prayer which is not difficult to learn is so wonderful. It brings us close to Our Mother and honours her in the manner she desires. The Hail Mary is made up from the words of the Angel Gabriel at the Annunciation and the words of her cousin, Elizabeth, and ends with a plea that she prays for us. What joy we can bring to the Immaculate Heart of Mary if we pray the rosary not only with our lips but with all our heart. Let us pray the rosary every day as she asks us.

This evening is the last session of the seminar in Tignish. I intend to be present with all those who have faithfully come during the last 7 weeks. Many have been strengthen in their faith and in their commitment to the Church.

May Jesus and Our Blessed Mother bless you and give you peace and joy.

Father Melvin.

Dear Paul and Rita,

Good morning on this beautiful sunny day! Let us thank God for His goodness. He gives us so much but above all I thank Him for the peace and joy He gives me every day.

I spent my prayer time with Jesus this morning and these were His words to me:

"Melvin, I love you my brother. You and many of my friends will go to church today. You will come to take part in the celebration of your redemption and you will receive me in Holy Communion. I will come and live in your hearts that are opened to me. A much greater number of people will not go to church today. They will ignore my call as though I did not exist. Their hearts are closed to me for they are interested only in what the world can give them. So many of them are enslaved by sin and are on their way to be lost. I desire their conversion, that they repent of their sins and turn back to me. Melvin, this is my greatest sorrow that so many reject me and live in sin. All you who are my friends, pray, pray for the conversion of these who are far from me. What joy there is in heaven over one who repents and comes to follow me. My dear brothers and sisters, continue your journey with me and do not be afraid, I am your Saviour who loves you very much and strengthens you ever day. You are mine."

How sad it is that so many people who used to call themselves Catholics have rejected their faith. They no longer believe in Jesus as their Saviour. They never pray any more. This is the main thought of Jesus this morning. Jesus still loves them and desires their return to Him. Let us storm heaven by our prayers that they will return before it is too late. Let us continue our walk with the Lord through prayer and good works. We are called to imitate the Good Samaritan in today's Gospel. So many of our neighbours are suffering in different ways. Let us go and help them. Many people come to see me every week for counseling, spiritual direction, problems of faith, sickness and above all marriage problems and depression. I try to be the Good Samaritan to them all. I will celebrate the Holy Eucharist at Miminegash Church this morning at 9:00.

May the Lord bless you all and give you His peace.

Father Melvin

Dear Paul and Rita,

Greetings to you and all! We have another lovely day here on the Island. Yesterday began cloudy but it cleared up and the sun came out. I visited my Aunt yesterday and brought her Holy Communion as she had been forgotten last week. Some people came to visit me especially a woman M. who has to return to hospital. Please pray for M that she may get well soon. In the evening I was at the Bible sessions for children at the hall at Palmer Road. The one in charge had asked me to come and bless the rosaries to be given to the children.

In prayer this morning, I was with Jesus who spoke to me saying, "Melvin, I care for you, I love you. Let us go and visit Our Mother on this day dedicated to her." Jesus brought me to Our Lady and as we sat around a table she said, "How happy I am to see you both. Jesus, welcome; each visit is a great joy to me. Melvin, my priest son, welcome to your Mother's home. My heart is heavy at the evil condition of the world. So many people live in sin and are far from their Saviour. The lack of faith among the people is a cause of great concern. Many have abandoned the Church and do not pray. My heart is sad at seeing the spiritual poverty of my children. Jesus suffers His agony once more for them. The shrine I want will be a great light for many people. I call today that all return to Jesus and leave sin behind. Be converted and return to prayer and the sacraments. I love you all for you are my children."

As our visit was over Jesus and I said good bye to Our Lady and departed. Mary cares for us and she always points to her Son, Jesus, for He is the Saviour of all. We are all her children and her motherly heart desires the salvation of us all. Let us remain always close to her and let us ask daily for her help.

May Jesus bless you all with peace and may Mary, Our Mother, pray for us.

Father Melvin.

Dear Paul and Rita,

Good morning on this bright sunny morning! There was a lot of activity yesterday as the Guardian newspaper of Charlottetown phoned various people for interviews for an article in their paper. The article on Our Lady of Prince Edward Island should appear tomorrow, Saturday. There should be comments from my Superiors in Montreal, the Bishop of Charlottetown if they can interview him today, Amanda who painted the image of Our Lady, and my answers to the questions of the journalist asked over the phone. I told him something will be revealed at the afternoon of prayer on July 22nd.

In prayer this morning I was with Jesus in great suffering as He was hanging on the cross. I stood there near Him in His great agony. He spoke to me saying, "Melvin, my friend, I am suffering for you. I am nailed to the cross for your salvation. What severe torments I am suffering with my head crowned with thorns and my hands and feet pierced by nails. I have accepted to suffer all this for you and for every person in the world. It is out of love for all of you that I am dying in great agony. Will you spend some time with me today as I sacrifice myself for you? My call to you from the cross is this: repent of all your sins and become my brother or sister and come walk with me. Let my blood fall on you today to wash you clean and to make you a member of my family. I give you grace if you will open your heart to me. Come, accept me your Saviour, and live in close union with me. I am dying for you for I love you very much. Do you love me?"

The question "Do you love me? at the end pierced my heart. How Jesus desires our love, our whole heart. How can we not love Him who died such a cruel death for us. However, many are so cold towards Him and refuse to accept Him as their Saviour. They dismiss Him as just one who lived 2,000 years ago and has no relevance for us today. They do not realize that He is dying for us again today and He will die for us every day till the end of the world. How can this be? It is because Jesus is God and His sacrifice on the cross is eternal. It will go on forever. It is the same sacrifice which is made actual or becomes present every day. This is what is happening in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. The Sacrifice on the Cross is made present during this celebration. We simply have to drop the 2,000 years and look at Jesus as the one dying for us today. His death and resurrection take place every day for they are part of the "today" of God. Jesus is asking the question "Do you love me? from the cross today. How do we in the depth of our heart answer this question? Let His blood fall on us today to wash us clean and attach us to Himself.

I am working these days to prepare for the July 22nd afternoon of prayer. I pray that Jesus and Our Lady will bless all those who will come. The closer we come to it, the more joy I feel that so many people will come to honour Our Blessed Mother and learn how much She loves us and what great plans She has for us. She is Our Mother who calls us all, her children, to follow Jesus. Some have been distracted and have left the right way but She is calling all to return.

May Jesus' suffering bring us all to salvation, and may Mary's pierced heart at the foot of the cross win for her a place in our heart.

Father Melvin.

Fr. Melvin Doucette (64 years of age) was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada, and was ordained to the priesthood 35 years ago on June 22, 1968 for the Missionaries of Africa. He spent 29 years in Africa working in large missions where the mandate was to set up a church in those areas and then move somewhere else. Father Doucette is now back in Palmer Road North near his elderly mother. Palmer Road North is a small village near Tignish, PEI. A healing priest, Father is in good standing with both his bishop in Africa and his local bishop.

In 1990, Fr. Doucette spent three months in Jerusalem to participate in a biblical course on the Gospels and attend a 30-day retreat. He has been experiencing the full suffering of Jesus since that visit to Israel. What he has is not stigmata but a re-experiencing of Christ's entire Passion. Every Holy Week he experiences the same thing, saying it occurs and ensues every time he goes into prayer. "I feel in my body as though I am right there with Jesus, experiencing everything He's experiencing. At times I scream from the pain. There is nobody physically beating me, but I feel as if I am going through the whole scourging. It is like I am united with Him in a very special way. The thorns in the crown of thorns are two inches long and are driven into the head. The crowning with thorns is very painful, but the most painful is the crucifixion itself -- the nails going through the body, the time on the cross, the pain across the abdomen, and the terrible feeling of not being able to breathe. It is absolutely terrible; it is horrible! It lasts for about three hours. Death comes as a great silence. Everything stops at that moment. But right up to the moment of death there is great suffering."

Jesus also sometimes shares part of his passion with Fr. Doucette on Fridays. Father says, "I received a special call from Jesus which is always with me... I narrate in my book The Art of Contemplative Prayer some of my religious experiences. ... I've included a few pages of the diary I kept during my 30-day retreat in Jerusalem; they deal with the Passion of Our Lord... how He made me live this great drama of our Salvation. For two weeks I was with Him undergoing the Passion or even better, Jesus was undergoing His Passion in my heart. I experienced every moment of it, from the agony in the Garden of Gethsemane to the Way of the Cross, to His crucifixion and death on the cross, the burial in the tomb until the Resurrection... When I was told to write this book, Jesus wanted me to include some of the experiences I had in prayer... Anyone can have a similar relationship with the Lord; this book shows in a simple way, how this can come about."

Father Doucette began contemplating over 25 years ago, and has had locutions and visions in the present form for over five years. Father also had them in Jerusalem during his 30-day retreat. Besides the daily locutions and frequent visions he has been experiencing, the Virgin Mary has appeared to him five times in one year. The first time was on Dec. 14, 2000, the second on Feb. 27, 2001, the third April 21, the fourth August 11 (one month to the day prior to Sept. 11), and the fifth time was on the 14th of December 2001, on the anniversary of the first apparition. Our Lady also appeared again on December 14, 2002.

On April 21, 2001, Fr. Doucette wrote: "... Mary appeared to me for the third time and spoke these words, "... Jesus and I bless all those who take to heart what we communicate to you... Melvin, I cannot end this conversation without mention-ing my great desire to have a Shrine built in my honour in Prince Edward Island. This is the great longing of my heart. When this Shrine is built my children will come in great numbers to visit it, to pray and to ask for my help. I will bless all who will come to honour me ... ... Jesus, Who is enthroned in all Shrines, will shower His gift of grace on all. His grace will be fruitful by many conversions, increase of faith and return to the Church. He will give the gift of peace to all those who come with a sincere heart ... ... It will be my special home where I will welcome all those who will come to visit me... Melvin, I am the Lady of Prince Edward Island as the picture I asked you to have painted testifies. As you clearly saw in the vision I gave you, the picture shows me standing on a piece of land in the shape of the Island. This picture is dear to my heart. Have photographs made and may all the homes on the Island and off the Island display this painting. As a priest, you blessed the original painting, and I... will bless all the homes where this image of mine is honoured."

On April 26, 2001, Jesus said: "Melvin, as I told you before, I want two religious societies, one for men and another for women. These will be bound to me by vows, and they will live in imitation of me. They are called to evangelize their brothers and sisters and help them live at a deeper level of union with me... They will animate the various communities for families and for youth. I am calling many to enter these communities. Pray that they will soon begin..." May 6, 2001: "Melvin, it is time that the twin religious societies of the Contem- plative Brothers and Sisters of mine begin. I desire that they... be established and begin their work of love..." Again Feb. 10, 2000: "When the twin societies are established together with the Families... and the Youth of mine, a new mentality will be born. Those who will join will be centered on me and will live a simple lifestyle... rejecting the modern culture of materialism and consumerism in which so many people live. A new culture, the civilization of love, will begin as the present Pope has elaborated..." (The Bishop of P.E.I. has given his permission)

Fr. Doucette's daily messages from Jesus, Mary and/or God the Father are read by many thousands in over 80 countries around the world; here are just a few of the countries: across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, France, Switzerland, Holland, Germany, Italy, Africa, Togo, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Bahrain, India, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand.

Jan. 30, 2002, Jesus: "... I rejoice that tens of thousands are reading my messages and many are taking to heart what I tell them. ... May you respond to my love and cooperate with my grace. May you spread my messages to all your friends and relatives for I desire to speak to all. Some could translate the messages in other languages..."

Ofita Valenzuela de Sundblad (Argentina) has since been translating the daily messages into Spanish, and now Micheline Choquette (Montreal) translates them into French. Angelique Lacson of Pennsylvania created the first web site for Father Doucette's messages (ready on Feb. 2, 2002). Gary Schaefer of Texas has the English Messages up to date on his beautiful "Immaculate Heart of Mary" Web Site; Jean-Claude Papin of Montreal created a Site for the French translation which includes a photo of Father Doucette; while Andrzej of Poland has a Web Site for the Messages in four languages.

As you can see these precious messages from Heaven are quickly becoming known by more and more people who desire to become closer to Jesus. Fr. Doucette's book: "THE ART OF CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER" also teaches us HOW TO HAVE A CLOSER RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS THROUGH CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER. With the weekend sessions with Father and his books, many more will begin to pray the "CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER" as Jesus has asked.

Excerpts from a few of daily Messages: Dec 14, 2002, Our Lady appeared again to Father. "...See me now as I hold the Child Jesus and stand on a piece of land shaped like the Island. I am coming to live in your home, Melvin. Today and until the shrine is built I will dwell in your home in Palmer Road. You could build me a special room where my picture could be displayed and where people could come to pray. I will touch all those who will come to ask for my help. Jesus will heal many there... Melvin, you will feel my presence at all times and will know that my heart pulsates in your little house. ..."

July 19, 2003, Our Lady: "Melvin... I bless you for spreading my message throughout the world. My children, know that I love you as a mother. I intercede for you all that you may know My Son, Jesus, and come to love and follow Him. Work steadily at developing a strong and intimate relationship with Him through daily prayer especially contemplative prayer... ... Melvin, I am delighted that the prayer room is being constructed... Jesus... will bless all those who volunteered to work for me, or contributed money, or will contribute money for the building of the prayer room I requested. I am the Lady of Prince Edward Island. I will distribute many graces to you who will come to visit my little home among you. I love you."

July 21, 2003, Our Heavenly Father: "Melvin, my son... I thank you for honouring Mary, the Mother of Jesus, by building the prayer room in her honour as she requested. She will lead many to her Son who will touch their hearts and bring them close to Him. She is the Lady of Prince Edward Island. This Island, I call Holy Ground as it is free from the scourge of abortion. I ask that the Church dedicate the Island to her because it is dear to her. ... I bless the prayer room... Mary will reside there and she will welcome all those who will come to visit and pray. Jesus, her Son, will be there too. She will dispense the graces and gifts from His hands. The fire of the Holy Spirit will spread from the prayer room to all directions to light the hearts of all who are opened to Him. I bless you all who await with joy the beginning of this new era."

July 23, 2003, Jesus: "... I greet you all, my friends, spread as you are throughout the world. ... These days I am touching the small Island of Prince Edward Island which is dear to me and my Mother. As it is preserved from abortion, the killing of the unborn infants, I have decided to raise up this little piece of land. My light will shine from this Island to touch the hearts of many. A fire will begin which will set the world on fire and turn the hearts of the people back to me."

Aug 15, 2003, Our Lady: "Melvin... You will receive a special gift from me today. I shower my blessings on all those who have helped and will help in the building of the Prayer Room. I embrace you all and hold you close to my heart. I asked you, Melvin, to build this Prayer Room for me while awaiting permission for the building of the shrine. This little home of mine will soon be ready for me to receive many of my children. It will be my newest home on "holy ground..."

Aug 18, 2003, Heavenly Father: "... The Mother of Jesus has chosen Prince Edward Island as her special place and She wants a shrine there. I have blessed this Island because it is free of abortions. It is indeed "holy ground". Her new home, which is under construction, will surely touch the hearts of many on the Island and beyond. The faith of many will be renewed and two new religious families will be born there. They are the Contemplative Brothers and Contemplative Sisters of Jesus. They will be imbued with the Spirit of Jesus. I bless the work that is being done and... all those who have helped in the construction of the building in any way. The graces from this holy place will spread throughout the world..."

The Prayer Room, which is attached to Father Doucette's home, will hold approximately 60 people and should be completed at the beginning of October. Since last December, Jesus has said twice that He has increased Father Doucette's gift of Healing.
