Joyce: A friend of mine sent me a copy of Maria Esperanza's message about the evil of cloning. Here is a copy of an email I sent to those on my email distribution list on Feb. 17, 2001. We need to pray and take action to restrict cloning in the United States as it is legal in 46 states. The cat is out of the bag now and we need to take action now!!! The following is the 2-17-01 email.....

On last night's (2/16/01) edition of ABC's 20/20, I heard some extremely disturbing news!!!

"RA L -- the founder of a religious organization called the RAELIAN MOVEMENT which claims that life on earth was created scientifically in laboratories by extraterrestrials whose name (Elohim) is found in the Hebrew Bible and was mistranslated by the word "God", and which also claims that Jesus' resurrection was, in fact, a cloning performed by the Elohim -- announced today that he and a group of investors have set up a company named VALIANT VENTURE LTD which will offer a service called CLONAID« to provide assistance to would be parents willing to have a child cloned from one of them. This service offers a fantastic opportunity to parents with fertility problems or homosexual couples to have a child cloned from one of them. ....."
What is not mentioned in the 20/20 transcript is that one of the final scientists who was interviewed said that within "the next 2-3 weeks and definitely March 2001", a woman will be impregnated with cloned human cells.
It is extremely disconcerting to me that we are approaching the Feast of the Annunciation, when the Virgin Mary is told that she has been chosen to be the Mother of the Savior and at this same time, this unethical abomination towards the sanctity of life is occurring.
According to the 20/20 interview, there are only four states which prohibit cloning and in the remaining 46, there are no laws prohibiting this. In other words, the interviewer told Barbara Walters, "I could take a piece of your hair without you knowing it and clone you, without your permission."
Please, please, please....PRAY about this "Brave New World" that is now upon us and TAKE ACTION NOW!!!
