Le Repos' Featured Site of the Day!
Christ's Faithful People
Finding this site was a real balm on my heart. I was browsing through the "priest's webring" site when I ran across a name I've been saying in my prayers every day for many many years now - Fr. Ray Suriani. His mother, God bless her, used to come on many of our retreats, and we were very close. Fr. Ray was special, not just because he was my friend's son, but because he was a holy priest - with a gift for preaching that is truly uncommon. If you really want a treat, listen to Father's sermons online!!!
Another familiar name on this lovely web site is Rev. Mr. Jim Najim - who also attended at least one of our retreats as a teen ager. This young man is going to make a marvelous priest! I still have a booklet called "Our Hearts are Restless - a message to the Youth of the World" which he wrote when he was a teen ager, and it was extremely well done. If you don't check this site out, you're missing something very very special.
Thought of the Day
"The world and modern man are learning the same lesson in the present crisis, namely, the helplessness of either to save self. A century and a half of pride has made modern man feel that the burden is on himself alone, and that if he steps from under it there must be a crash. This kind of pride begets the greatest despair, for in a crisis it can appeal to nothing outside itself."
- Bishop Fulton J. Sheen
