-- Jude 3 [KJV] --
"In your hearts reverence Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to make a
defense [apologia] to any one who calls you to account for the hope that is
in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence."
" . . . I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I
might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share
in its blessings."
APOLOGETICS:Throughout the history of the church, Catholics have defended the teachings of Christianity. Whether it was among the pagans of Rome, the European barbarians, the Druids of Ireland and England, the tribes of Africa, the cultures of Asia and the New World, or the post-Christian Culture of Death that is permeating our current society, Apologetics have gone hand in hand with Evangelization. Realistically they are both interlocking parts of Jesus Christ's command to announce the Good News to all the ends of the Earth. It is simply not enough to "have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ." That personal relationship is nothing more nor less than "conversion." True conversion is marked by certain fruits. The fruits of conversion are a love a God, a true desire to know His teachings, and a willingness to serve Him. Therefore you will know a tree by its fruits. True conversion of the heart, to follow God, will be manifested in:
1) A desire to know and root out all that is sinful in one's life. Apologetics is, then, the study and defense of the Faith and the attempt to bring others to Know, Love, and Serve God in this life in order to be happy with Him for Eternity in the next Life, Heaven. Please join us as we attempt to learn the Faith, Know it, Love it, Defend it, and SPREAD IT! Feel free to email us with ANY questions you may have. If I don't know the answer, I will find it! I am not a "professional apologist" or an "expert" at anything, except maybe web searching, to find answers to difficult Faith questions. Feel free to challenge me or correct any errors you see here.
